This goes for anything, file & folder encryption, archiver encryption and disk encryption. The only thing excluded from this poll is e-mail encryption (For the sake of poll length). ****I made a mistake by listing GPG4Win as a poll choice, as GnuPG is basically the same thing...My apologies****
As I have experimented with many, my final deciding choices are... EncryptOnClick and WindRAR for file and folder encryption (Windows) AESCrypt (Mac) As for drive encryption, I use SSD built in encryption.
That's quite a list of options there , and I've used quite a few of them . BTW , I think it's a pity that you didn't include e-mail encryption . I'd be interested to see how many people chose that.

It looks like a new encryption tool has peaked it's way through. For those interested, it's called Cryptomator, it's open source and multi-platform (Windows, Mac OS and Linux) Here is the official website: https://cryptomator.org/ NOTE: I'll be testing this one out and I'll be posting my opinion on it soon.
Ok, I went ahead and tested Cryptomator. It's a very basic, stripped down version of VeraCrypt, that does offer a few differences (some listed below). It lets you create as many vaults as you like. Each vault is created as a localhost drive (It's basically a local network drive, with no custom set capacity size - it basically fills up when you add files) - I might be wrong, but from what I see in drive properties, it will let you use up to 28.4 GB per vault. Drive letters can be locked and unlocked You can choose your own drive letter You have the option to save your vaults on the local drive or through a cloud folder (If you have a cloud service installed on your computer) It uses strong encryption, according to = https://cryptomator.org/architecture/ Of course as mentioned before, it's open source and multi-platform (Windows, Mac OS and Linux) I think Cryptomator is perfect for those who found VeraCrypt confusing, but are wanting the similar functionality, with a more simplistic approach. Do I recommend it? I would say yes. Now, if I were to list any cons, mine would be. Doesn't offer a portable version No option to change vault passwords Maybe too basic for my tastes (I think a few more options would be better) You can't use a keyfile, like you can in VeraCrypt - This alone might be a deal breaker for some.
I have only a small number of sensitive documents – so I use Safehouse Explorer. Quite adequate for my needs.
Generally I don't need encryption softwares, but sometimes in the past I used it. Many years ago I used Axcrypt, then Blowfish Advanced CS and especially I had an old version of Steganos Safe, a very good program !
