In 360 Total Security 8.2.0.1134 update, the balanced configuration is back like before without Bitdefender engine activated. :)

Got an update to 8.2.0.1138 even though website still shows 8.2.0.1134. BD still shows as activated on Balanced.

    @tgell :
An update should not change your settings, unless there is an urgent reason.

Maybe settings in balacned mode depends on whether you downloaded just the installer, or the offline installer with integrated definitions...

hen I upgraded to 8.2.0.1133 the BD engine and definitions were installed by default. Still default on Balanced for version 8.2.0.1138.

In GakunGak's image it shows the ability to turn off the BD engine with a slide switch. The slide switch is also available when putting your mouse cursor over the BD engine icon at the bottom of the Virus Scan window. One thing to note though. When disabling BD in either location it only disables manual scan. Realtime scan is always enabled no matter if the switch is off or on.

Would you please double check for me, as in my case, both are disabled and resource usage is as for Balanced, low.

And I have both engines installed for manual scan.

Something weird is going on. If I disable BD under Virus Scan and go to settings. Realtime is enabled and Manual Scan is disabled. If I leave BD enabled in Virus Scan but Disable it in Balanced Protection Settings then nothing is changed. Both Realtime and Manual stay enabled. In other words the switch in Balanced Settings does not have any affect. Only the switch in Virus Scan. I will uninstall and reinstall and see if that changes anything.

Windows 7 32bit. I downloaded the full install of 8.2.0.1138. BD engine install checked as default but I unchecked it. I configured Custom in System Protection to add the BD engine. I then selected Balanced which showed BD engine as off. Clicked Apply then went to Virus Scan in the main UI. BD engine still shown as enabled when I hovered over the DB icon which was not greyed out. I went back to Custom Protection, clicked apply. I went to settings > virus scan. BD realtime and manual scan were both enabled.

Went to Virus Scan in the Main UI. Hovered over BD and turned off the engine. This is still Custom Protection. I went to Custom Protection > Configure. BD engine still shows enabled. I go to Settings > Virus Scan and Realtime is enabled and Manual disabled.

Went to Virus Scan in the Main UI, Turned BD engine on. Went to Custom Protection, turned BD engine off. Clicked Apply. BD engine in Virus Scan of main UI still shows as enabled. Go to Settings > Virus Scan. Realtime is disabled, Manual is enabled.

Went to Virus Scan in the Mani UI. Turned BD engine off. Went to Custom Protection, turned BD engine off. Clicked Apply. Go to Settings > Virus Scan. Realtime and Manual Scan show as disabled.

In virus scan window, BD/AV icon engines, when in full color, are shown as INSTALLED and their respective update date. It does not mean realtime or not.
If lit, not grayed, they are enabled in balanced mode for manual scan only. On custom [manual selection] or Security [all enabled], it is then enabled for realtime, which is shown on the protection summary.

In order to get this right and not rig false alarm, please provide me with screenshots of relevant windows and point out with arrows and text the issues you might be having.

My brain is too fragmented today, need to fire up O&O Brain Defrag Professional 19

Okay, I understand now what is going on. Opening the main UI and going to Virus Scan place the cursor over the BD engine. This will bring up a small dialog box showing the BD definitions date. It will also have a switch. This turns Manual Scan off and on. When clicking on the Protection icon in the main window and entering Custom configuration the switch to turn the BD engine off and on turns Realtime scan off and on. The two switches serve different functions. One to turn manual scan off and on and the other to turn Realtime scan off and on.

    360 cloud is coming?
How much space will it have?
    What's the ETA?
Can I use an email instead of my phone no?
Can I be the first to sign up?

Ask them not to make it **** like those rapidgator. But make it like Dropbox/Box.

1: 360 English cloud is a project under planning. Don't expect it that soon.
2: Space will be recalculated to accomodiate the influx of new registrations and users. I expect at least 1 TB, but.....
3: As soon as the infrastructure is setup, all national and international laws have been worked up, testing done to ensure optimal service. Do not expect it that soon.
4: For Yunpan, you have mandatory registration of mobile phone number, for verification purposes. For the time being, it is now open to International registration, and
use translator addons for browser to translate Chinese->English
5: How will you know you were the first to sign up? There is always someone faster :)

It will be similar to YunPan. No waiting, countdown or whatever. But please be patient :)

Conclusion: Still too early to talk about english cloud.

Will look into having more descriptive changelogs instead of generic "bugs fixed" :)

Is there any way to have this program stop tagging my jpgs as suspicious files?

That is something I am already working on. I use IrfanView as my image viewer and have the same problem :)
