I'm gonna have a little talk tomorrow with 360, so, if there's ANYTHING I should pass along, comments, complaints, appraisals, suggestions, or just a simple hello, now is the time.
Let me know here in this thread or via PM, thanks.

I am wondering if or when Qihoo gets tested by AV-comparatives Qihoo is setting BD as default for all installs in order to get a better test result. At any rate, I think the BD engine install should be optional. A lot of people are on a metered connection and adding all the BD definitions eat up bandwidth but I am not sure how big these definitions are. Does anybody know where they are located?

I can't get the antitheft module in 360 Safe Mobile to work. I have tried multiple Samsung Android phones (Note 4 and S3) on both T-Mobile and Verizion. I emailed their tech support a few weeks ago and have received any reply.

Basically, the findphone.360safe.com is not able to locate my phone. The phone is displayed as Connected, but when it tries to locate the phone, it counts down 59 seconds then tells me to send a text to the phone.

I have the 360safe application enabled in the phone security settings, and Location is turned on. I can go to the Google Device Manager and it can locate my phone, so I know the location service is functional.

    I have found:
    1) The 360safe application shows the correct location from the mobile app itself, so I know that it is able to get location information.
    2) When I try to locate the phone from the findphone.360safe.com website, the phone shows the location service icon in the upper taskbar, so the device is communicating with the website.

So, there seems to be an issue with the website being unable to display the location. The app on the phone can get the location, and the website is communicating with the phone. Either the app can't send the proper data to the website, or the website is unable to display the location due to a bug.

You can uninstall them in Settings>Virus Scan, scroll down and uninstall the engine of your choosing.

Very positive change coming for those expecting YunPan and 360 account registration. Things moved from discussion to actual doing, so, when it's ready, it will be ready. :)

Are you referring to Qihoo's cloud storage? As in it will now be in English?
Update: I'm not noticing any slowdown with the BD engine enabled.

I am referring to international mobile numbers registration will be open, not Chinese only. As far as English goes, there is a huge debate on translating the whole thing or having separate International version for cloud storage and 360 account.
As for BD engine, testing is underway on low end machines in test lab for optimization process of enabled engines.
360 Total Security will undergo slight redesign in features [Toolbox] , and will be getting a new one [Registry Cleaner].
That thing will be completely optional :)
Also, I am in the talks with the techies to have BD/AV engines cloud enabled, so, in Security mode, all engines are cloud activated, and in the event of internet connection drop,
signatures sleeping in the hard drive will kick in and load into memory, until the connection is reestablished again. That way, maximum security can be achieved with as little memory usage
as possible, as everything is in the cloud :) Of course, updates will still continue and refresh hard drive signatures, to kick in on moment's notice when it needs to :)
If this thing gets approved, well, you know the benefits :)

Other stuff is in the works as well, but that will get released later this year. Begining of May should shed some light on the new version :)

@GakunGak Thanks for the news! These are very interesting and welcome information, especially the proposal of putting all the definitions on cloud :)

I also have another thing. Due to the nature of my future work, I will not be online, and I am going dark somewhere October/November this year. By the time I pop in back again,
many things will be obsolete and I would need updating. As would Walter O'Brien say, not efficient.
With that in mind, 360 might need a person, a representative, so to speak, who would give advise, support, channel suggestions and concerns, and overall, well, do what I do.
A special person would be appointed to handle that person. I am still in talk about the possible benefits one might have from this gig, I am working on that.
Until then, you guys have more than enough to decide if you're up to the task :)
By the time comes and I go, I will do as much as possible, and will make sure things are ticking.
I almost forgot. If there are any outstanding issues, do let me know.
And suggestions, either to 360, Total or Essentials, or even mobile.
Speaking of essentials, do an update check, I think there was an update today or yesterday, your issues might be fixed :)

One other thing for 360 to consider: I would like to see a "premium" mobile version without ads. I hate ads. I would pay not see ads on the app.

    Sorry for the delay, @cohbraz
The decision is final, there will not be a premium version, all are and will remain free version, nothing will be paid.
You may sense the "but" coming....
BUT, it is open to suggestions on how to improve the product, and that means ad placement.
So, what do you recommend? Separate ad tab? Smaller tab? Only show at specific time or action? :)

Thanks for checking on this. I don't know what else they can do. I feel that they could have a much more refined and professional looking app without the ads. It's just my opinion and how I feel, but to me packing an app with ads feels amateur-ish. I think it would look a lot more polished with them, and would perhaps be taken more seriously and gain a few more users without them.

Did you, perhaps, consider using an ad blocker? That should get rid of the ads.
I will think about this, and will try to see the best course of action for this. I will think of something. I always do.

In the meantime, it's time for some privacy enhancements. And that is....... V P N :)
A lot of stuff is cooking in the 360 kitchen, and Total would get upgrades for the better :)
Do keep in mind that incoming stuff are optional and you don't have to use them if you don't want them to.
It will take some time, but it will be worth it :) Can't say more than already have, and I am not good at keeping secrets, so... my lips are sealed tight from now on :)
This is as much as I am gonna let go ;)

!) That article is nearly a year old now.
    2) I highly doubt that other well known AV software companies have not done similar things in their history.
    3) I personally think that people should stop judging software in general, just by reading an article or watching a video on Youtube only.

Yeah those things can/will give some information about the software, but as long as the software is from a well know company, try it out yourself for a while. Base your judgement mostly on your own experience
with software. ( That is how I see it personally at least. :) )

Not to worry, everyone :) This is expected, as a huge attack is underway already [competitor], to degrade the name and image of the company everywhere, from YouTube to Facebook to public forums.
As this has already been discussed, it should be ignored :)
