    System requirements
For the seamless operation of ESET Internet Security 10 Beta, edition 2017 or ESET NOD32 Antivirus 10 Beta, edition 2017, the system should meet the following hardware and software requirements:
Processors Supported: Intel® or AMD x86-x64.
    Operating Systems: Microsoft® Windows® 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista.

    Known Issues
    • Upgrade from previous versions is not supported - clean installation is required
    • Reset settings to default doesn’t work
    • Windows 10: only build 10074 is supported
    • Windows 10: firewall is blocking network connections / firewall driver fails after reinstall of the application / OS upgrade
    • Installation of the beta product over different type of ESET product is not supported
    • Firewall troubleshooting wizard counter always shows zero
    • Help texts are outdated
    • Banking & Payment protection frame is not always correctly displayed
    • Importing certificates for SSL scanning to Firefox fails in some cases
    • Only the latest versions of browsers are supported for SSL scanning

"Upgrade from previous versions is not supported" - I guess that upgrading from Alpha is also not supported?
Will test it in VM when I have some time.

I would assume an upgrade from the alpha is probably not supported. I assume this is public now? The alpha was not.

To echo Thankful's comments, I am still waiting for all the bugs to be fixed in ver. 9 so I can install it.

    Hello,

Internet Security is a new product. See this post over on the ESET Forums: BETA 2017
Smart Security is still an Alpha and the testers are not supposed to be posting about it due to the non-disclosure agreement...

That's an interesting stipulation, given that that build of Windows 10 was an beta from 3 months before the 10240 final release, and that the current TH2 10586 public release was released another 3.5 months after that. So apparently the new Eset only supports a Windows 10 beta from 12 months ago!?

Yep! Seem like that's the case...
That is why I stopped myself from installing it. I still remember previous ESET betas that took me hours to fix my PC because of driver incompatibilities :)

I see a few of us are testing the other program :shifty::thumb:

According to the same place one find the alpha (or aplha as it's accidentally been spelt), the beta for EIS and Nod32 states:

For the seamless operation of ESET Smart Security, the system should meet the following hardware and software requirements:
    • Processors Supported: Intel® or AMD x86-x64
    • Operating Systems: Microsoft® Windows® 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP SP3+ 32-bit/XP SP2+ 64-bit
No mention of specific Windows 10 builds so perhaps it was a quick cut and paste onto the Eset forum?

Script-Based Attack Protection and Ransomware Protection are the stars of this new version, both are core features for me and I hope it will be at same level of Emsisoft protection.

You should always make full image backups when beta testing software , or even with normal every day use. Have you found an image backup solution yet?
