As if there is not enough air traffic over heathrow as it is and they add drones to the mixture...surely these sort of incidents were to be expected. Madness.
Fortunate it didn't get sucked into an engine ! If i saw one flying over my property, i'd shoot it down, or use an RF jammer to crash it
A Drone season hunting license was suggested in a small town in Colorado - it got voted down. Since that commercial aircraft landed on the Hudson River after multiple bird strikes caused both jet engines to fail, the engines have since been modified so the birds can not get sucked in. I guess that would keep the drones out too. That was an Airbus A320 (big plane), but smaller and older planes do not have the modification. It would be cheaper to mount a machine gun on the belly of all aircraft.

Today's update: The unidentified flying object that hit the airbus was probably a plastic bag, according to the British Transport Minister Robert Goodwill.
