    Hi @ Wilders

    I have a problem which I am unable to resolve on my own. I have tried via the Sandboxie website and forum but no joy yet. So can someone help me.

    I have Win 10 64 bit latest Sandboxie 5.10 and latest Comodo Dragon.

    When I click on Print in a sandboxed Comodo Dragon (or Chrome or Chromium) the print preview window loads but usually does not resolve a picture of what is to be printed. Occasionally it does resolve a picture but in both cases when I click Print Dragon crashes. Without sandboxing via Sandboxie, printing works fine. In addition, the latest version of Opera works fine when sandboxed (Chrome derivative).

    I suppose what I am asking is this does anyone have a 32bit Dragon working under Sandboxie that is able to print with no problem. If so do they have a Sandboxie config file I can look at?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Terry

    Hi bo elam

    Thank you very much for your reply, I had not seen it in the SB forum. In addition my technical comprehension is somewhat limited, however my reply is this.

    "1) If you trust the process that is printing, you can double-click the SBIE1320 (that follows SBIE1319) to allow the print spooler to write files outside the sandbox for that particular process."

    Non of this occurs!! when I click on print the print preview box opens with a spinning catherine wheel in the centre, occasionally an image appears otherwise nothing, when I then press print in either case Dragon.exe crashes. Sometimes I get a Sandboxie message about splwow64.exe and to double click on it, BUT, it is already in the Start/Run Restriction settings. Double clicking on it does nothing, it becomes an iterative process (the box just keeps popping up and asking to be double clicked then shutting down).

    "2) The spooler can write files outside the sandbox according to OpenFilePath settings. This enables you to permanently open the folders a particular printer driver uses to store its work files."

    How do you write this so I can put it in the ini file ie how do I locate the file path to the print spooler and put it together with openpath command (I am on Win 10?

    Apologies for being somewhat slow at understanding. I hope you can help.

    Thanks

    Terry

    I know you are OK now but for other users who might read this thread, and are looking for help, this can be done via Sandbox settings>Resource access>File access>Direct access, Click Edit/Add, copy and paste there the line below.

    OpenFilePath=c:\windows\system32\spool\printers\*

    By the way, you can also set it up so only Comodo Dragon has access to the printer. Go to Sandbox settings>Resource access>File access>Direct access, Click the drop down window, Click on Dragon, then Click Edit/Add, now you add the line. After doing this, if sandboxed Dragon prints OK, only Dragon will be permitted to print in this sandbox. And you can delete the line you added earlier today.

    Hi bo elam

    Thank you so much. Did what you suggested and it works a treat. One other point, since you are aware of the Sandboxie thread in which I asked Craig to comment whether I have diminished the effectiveness of Sandboxie by adding the following to the Config. file:

    openfilepath=c:\Users\Terry\AppData\Local\Temp\*
    OpenFilePath=c:\windows\system32\spool\printers\*
    openfilepath=c:\ProgramData\EPSON\PRINTER\EPAUDF01.AUD
    openfilepath=c:\ProgramData\EPSON\EPSON Stylus SX400 Series\0409.E_FCF0EGE.WAT
    openfilepath=c:\Windows\Temp\*

    It was necessary to do this to get Dragon printing, but since you are obviously very knowledgable can you offer a view (as to whether it diminishes effectiveness to make it not worthwhile)

    Thanks very much

    Terry

    By the way, theres no harm doing this kind of thing. When you allow Dragon OpenFilePath to the files above, Only Dragon has access to this files. Programs that get downloaded or installed in the sandbox are not permitted to have access to them.:)
