Don't recall boxes that were default checked/not checked since first install of SD .578.
With Recovery box manual checked....upon dry cycle SD .578 thru.612 then Recovery box is not checked. While (C) remains checked.
Seems for me SD (.578 thru.612) prefers not to include Recovery (D).

bjm, I found this picture, when I run Shadow defender and the UI opens up, that's exactly how the partitions look with the check marks. Then I click Enter Shadow mode. Its an old picture like the version I use.

Hi bjm. Yes, it does look different for you than what I see when I run Shadow defender. Perhaps, what you see is different because of the system or newer versions handle the Recovery differently. My SD version is 1.2.0.346. It would be nice someone using W8.1 and a newer version of SD post some feedback. But anyway, if I was you, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Hi Bo,
with external drive plugged in ..... SD only checks (C)
    Shadow Defender w ext drive.PNG
SD Help shows all volume checked
    Shadow Defender Help Mode.png
and your pics show all volumes checked and my setup only checks (C)
wonder if my not checking Start with Windows is related...?

No, that's not it. I know because I dont check it either. I run SD on demand only and the process for SD only starts when I run the program by clicking the shortcut in Start menu.

Don't see the Recovery partition. Only system drive and external USB drive.

and I find Recovery and external USB drive....#4431
and Tony writes <<because SD remembers the last choice. Best regards, Tony>>
maybe, I have to Shadow > Recovery (D) and see if SD remembers Recovery...?

    A new version was released:
    Version 1.4.0.617 - April 3, 2016
Fixed: Fix a bug related to Windows Update in Windows 10.

    http://www.shadowdefender.com/download.html

Again,i would like to ask if we have same hashes for the installer...i am a bit of paranoid about these hashes...

    SD1.4.0.617_Setup.exe

    MD5: A7A13DDA4AE5008B643B1FE3E1D1C019
    SHA-1 : 62E101F0AC3A7A37CA350A64FD7DE702D0D7A383

Thanks. Is it possible that the creator could include hashes together with the release of a new version? But if not, comparing my hashes with other people should be fine i think.^_^

Seems like your download is not complete. I have the same hashes as reported by sdmod, etc.

Why does this matter? Are you not downloading it from the official site... It's not going to be different.

Okay, so why does non-active, non-boot oem recovery partition need to be in shadow...?
Does shadow all volumes help recover active volume from shadow...?

One reason to use SD is to get rid of malware infections that occur while the system is in Shadow Mode. Malware can infect any partition, not just the Windows partition (which may or not be the boot partition).

The purpose of SD is not to "recover" the boot partition, but to restore any shadowed partition to the state it was in when the system was put in Shadow Mode.
