    Good day wat0114,

I am not up to it, but I am pretty sure you will know how to get rid of the following:-

    1. Nasdaq pop-up as per screenshot http://www.nasdaq.com/
    2. Reuters http://www.reuters.com/ as per screenshot
The Reuters page is dimmed for several seconds and shows only a close button, so something is being blocked by either uMatrix or uBlock.

i dont have both with uBlock 1.6.6 with blocked 3rd-party scripts/frames + hosts files
you have to tell more about your filter settings.

use the picker/pipette on nasdaq and same for reuters overlay - seems to be a remnant from a blocked popup

OK, as regards Reuters I had to use the element picker twice (to get rid of the close button) >>

    ! 28/03/2016, 13:00:03 http://www.reuters.com/
    www.reuters.com###mainSection > .sectionContent > .sectionColumns > .grid8.gridPanel.column1 > .inter_bg

    ! 28/03/2016, 13:01:24 http://www.reuters.com/
    www.reuters.com###div_gpt_intro2 > .close_button

With Nasdaq, the element picker got rid of the pop-up but after clearing cache and loading again the page is dimmed and links are unclickable.

    ! 28/03/2016, 12:56:12 http://www.nasdaq.com/
    www.nasdaq.com###adBlockMsg

uBlock Origin is not used in advanced mode because I am also running uMatrix with 1st party scripts+frames allowed. Will need to delve deeper.

I have but it keeps coming back. Not sure where to go from here. I am not a web guy.

EDIT: Messed around with cosmetic filtering. Not sure how it works exactly but I think I got it taken care of. There are probably better ways to create rules for this so for now I think I can get by with using multiple rules. Thanks man.

Fixed, force an update of your filters. (when I say "fixed", I mean I created a scriptlet to disable these specific ads on imore.com).

    Try: nasdaq.com##script:inject(overlay-buster.js)

"overlay-buster.js" is a generic scriplet which will remove heuristically what it detects as an full page overlay. I tried it on nasdaq.com and it worked. I didn't see any overlay for reuters.com, presumably whatever issue there was with one of the 3rd-party filter lists was solved.

It would be so great to make the replacement scripts an editable option, so people can share their brewings for site specific solutions on some place.
I'm sure if enough knowledged people are involved some really strong things could arise for specific user groups, sports stream lovers, porn lovers, online gaming "cheaters", people using lesser known sites than those standard in the not-editable list.
This really could be a nice addition imho.

    Chrome:

I noticed today that if I go to Manage extensions tab and try press 'Get more extensions', it looks like uBO is blocking that. Means I can't search/install any extensions. Unless I disabled uBO.

Notice that uBO is not blocking popups on that page by a setting, but that is what it appears to be doing. Also uMatrix had behind-the-scene temporary allowed.

    uBO version is 1.6.6.

Basically that feature is Greasemonkey. You can use Greasemonkey to do such thing.

What does the logger say? Are you also filtering behind-the-scene requests in uB0?

When i turn the logger on and click the Get more extensions -link, I will get this and only this:
    13:20:37 no-popups: * true -- popup https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions?hl=en-US

It tells blocking the link. But I am not blocking any. The bottom left icon meaning popups is grey with no red X. Also on the uBO whitelist tab I have these:
    about-scheme
    behind-the-scene
    chrome-extension-scheme
    loopconversation.about-scheme
    opera-scheme

So behind-the-scene is allowed. While writing this reply I also disabled uMatrix, so it should not be giving any conflict with uBO in the test.
If i try right-click the link and open it in new tab or window, both result the new tab or window getting closed.
I can yes copy the link address https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions?hl=en-US and open a new window and paste it there and that way make it work without needing to disable uBO. But I do think something is wrong and might be just in my browser.

    EDIT:
uBlock Origin is definitely conflicting with my Chrome browser regarding what I posted. I unchecked "I am an advanced user" and checked that the popups were not blocked on manage extensions -tab. No help.
I disabled uBO on the GUI for that tab, no help.

The only thing that works is disabling the uBO extension totally.
