Good Evening! Good things happen to those that wait! The number of Vendors using Bitdefenders Signatures is staggering...with the Revenue that Bitdefender makes...it's amazing that they even have too promote and market their own product...Lol! Sincerely...Securon

Good Evening! I'm in no hurry...in considering using Vipre...might coincide with moving over to Windows 10. The firewall has always been an adventure...and HIPS...has to be properly configured so it runs silent and becomes user friendly. Hopefully Vipre Anti-Virus will implement Bitdefenders Signatures...then it doesn't present the need to use the Internet Security Pro Suite. Time will tell! Sincerely...Securon

Good Evening! ttomm1946...that's the 64,000 dollar question...presently I believe only the I.S.Pro has the BD engine and signatures. I'll follow up by calling Threat Track and provide an answer and update. Until then stay tuned. Sincerely...Securon

I would be hard pressed to put Vipre back on my system...Got infected bad while using this AV and when I called for tech support all I got was a big ZERO from the help desk. No AV is prefect but once whacked like that I'm not interested in a round 2.

Good Evening! I agree wholeheartedly Ripcord! Threat Track has to up the Quality of their Customer Service. As an example I tried following up in regards to finding out whether Vipre Anti-Virus has the Bitdefender Engine and Signatures...I waited close to Ten minutes before hanging up...Left a poor opinion in regards to Threat Track ...wanting to be more Customer Focused. Having worked for Canada's Largest Telco and Fifth Largest Bank...as a CSR... you had to initiate contact within ten seconds. So I'll follow up...and offer some Constructive Critique. In my opinion Webroot has Superb CSR Focus...they set the Benchmark in my Opinion. Sincerely...Securon

Discussing WR here is sort of off-topic, but since you brought it up: I'd suggest going over to the Webroot thread and looking at recent posts critical of WR's customer service. I've posted there, as have several others speaking to recent (12-24 months-recent) issues with phone wait times (45+ mins), forcing customers to call instead of handling tickets via electronic helpdesk, no ticket responses, repeating the same steps over and over and over without end, etc. Not much of a benchmark, imo.

FWIW, I received a response within a few minutes when I posted to the ThreatTrack customer forum asking a question about why they don't use SSL for product communications. I submitted my question during business hours, so if you submit a thread outside their hours, I'd expect having to wait a bit.

I would not. They always had "latest breakthrough technology" marketing thing and never provided good protection in my experience. If they would make detection rate as their priority it could be good software to use, otherwise I think their coding team did good job but people who collect malware was week for as long as I know.

I've had Internet Security Pro on my daughter's HP pc for about four months, and there have been no problems whatsoever. The firewall is not very intrusive, which is good for her. You set it and forget it. I also turned off the feature for alerting you to any updates needed regarding software installed on the system. I go on the computer and occasionally run scans. So far nothing.

Isnt Vipre Security Pro Suite a full rebrand of Bitdefender Internet Security? I know that Vipre has made some tweaks, but it is "just" Bitdefender and I would stay with the original.

See the thread I linked earlier in this thread (here) - haakon briefly describes how BD SDK integration works. It isn't just a "rebrand of Bitdefender IS".

Good Morning! From my perspective I'd rather support North American Vendors. Based on your experiences m0unds...I have a feeling that maybe just maybe Threat Track has outsourced their Customer Service too a third party vendor...it's all about cutting costs so your stock remains viable to your shareholders...believe me it comes from past experience in the Telco market. And in light of today's market's it's all about cut, cut, cut. I'll follow up with trying to contact Threat Track tomorrow...Stay Tuned! Sincerely...Securon

I read that thread before and I still think it is "just" Bitdefender with "custom made" HIPS and some tweaks, I am not saying it is a bad product, but it isnt very interesting for me.

This thread isn't about the regular IS product. The Pro product certainly does.

Good Afternoon! After being placed on hold for over fifteen minutes...by three different departments...I was told that Vipre Antivirus at the moment won't be using the Bitdefender Engine and Signatures. Now in all fairness; the person I was talking to was a Customer Service Rep...and not in a position to make Product Decisions. The CSR stated that's why Vipre offers three different levels of coverage. That statement doesn't do the product any justice...as it defeats the purpose of any improvement that Vipre I.S.Pro brings to the Potential Customer of Vipre product. I believe if Vipre/Threat Track is looking to bolster Sales they should incorporate Bitdefender in it's entire Product Line. And from a Customer Focus perspective should hire more CSR'S...it's a Royal PITA...listening to canned music and messages. If Threat Track wants to be a Viable Vendor...they have to remember that the Customer comes First. Sincerely...Securon

With some very good AV's out there I just don't see Vipre being a viable option. I can remember many yrs ago there was some type of agreement w/ Malwarebytes and talk of a dual AV engine when Sunbelt was in charge and there security forum was very active...How dreams fade.

Good Evening! I remember a time when you could speak Directly with Alex Eckelberry Sunbelt's CEO...both at Wilders...or e-mail him directly at Sunbelt. Also there were reps from Sunbelt Nick Hallam...Professor Clouseau...etc who provided sage like advice to Wilders members regarding the evolution of proposed product updates. And I agree with Ripcord,Sunbelt's user forum was engaging and active. Until Threat Track provides a complete product update for Vipre...I'm staying with my product of choice. Sincerely...Securon

Folks, sorry I have been out of touch of late. Have Vipre abandoned their own engine, or the new Vipre is multi-engine (own+BD) based?
