Accept for the Apps. 1511 did fix the apps for a short time, then they went out again. Waiting for the next build to fix it again.

Interesting. I tested mine several times and it is fine now. Maybe there was another update that did it?

You can upgrade to build 1511 of Windows 10 from Windows 7 with having to have SP1 installed first. I have an old Windows 7 laptop which I could not upgrade to Windows 10 because it did not have SP1 installed. However, due to problems with Windows I was not able to actually install SP1, not matter what I tried to fix my install of Windows 7. Of course, I could have done a clean install of Windows 10, but I did not want to. This computer has a lot of software installed, has had hundreds of programs installed and uninstalled over three years of heavy use, and I wanted to see how well Windows 10 would work when upgraded from heavily used Windows install.

However, I decided today (after some months) to upgrade to Windows 10 again. It's upgrading even though I still don't have SP1 installed.

After 90 minutes the upgrade completed. Initially Windows was running extremey slowly. Task Manager showed Windows Defender was using up to 91% CPU time, so I will replace with something lighter. In the meanwhile Windows is running much faster now that I've disabled WD's realtime protection. There are a few drivers missing, and it is only using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, but hopefully Windows Update will find the missing drivers.

As far as I can tell so far, it would seem that all the software I had installed is still working.

It's ridiculous that you need an extension for Mouse Gestures. This is what I also hated about Firefox and Chrome. Edge seems to be way too basic for my taste, but still nice that extensions like ABP and probably also Ghostery will soon be available.
