I have just installed xubuntu and i would just like to know which software sources i should have enabled. In the canonical section i have the first 3 options ticked. In the other software section i have both independent options ticked. These ok or should i have others enabled. Thanks.
i have, ((UBUNTU SOFTWARE.)) 1.canonical-supported free and open software.(main). 2.Community maintained free and open software.(universe.) ((OTHER SOFTWARE.)) 1.Independent. 2.Independent (source code.). 3.Http dl google .com/linux/chrome/deb/stable main. ((UPDATES.)). 1.Important security updates. 2.Recommended updates(trusty-updates.) These are all ticked.
A better way to answer this question is to post the literal contents of the file within code tags. I very much doubt that what is shown in post #3 are the actual contents.
It should be noted that these sources were ticked upon install of xubuntu so it would be safe to assume that the xubuntu team would tick the most appropriate sources upon release.
