I'm sticking with Intel, I have never been a fan of AMD.

It's been pretty much an Intel only market since the C2D came out 10 years ago. I haven't bought AMD in the last decade, and with what they did to ATi they aren't winning me back any time soon.

Can you tell a bit more about what they did to ATI?

They bought them. Then they ruined them. Their hardware quality used to be top notch. My last 2 cards from them failed. And the drivers... the fanboys would defend them but their drivers were an absolute embarrassment. I ran their products for 12 years... I won't do it again unless they sell them to someone else that cares about the quality.

OK I see. So NVIDIA is the better choice I guess.

In my opinion yes, but I am not wanting to drag this into an off topic argument between people. On topic I do feel that it is a bold claim for them to state they have anything on par with Intel. But who knows, maybe they'll surprise me. If they actually do it won't bring down Intel's prices. It will just drive up AMD's.

If it is any good it will. I remember when the Athlon 64 X2 4800+ was $800 because it was faster than any Pentium 4 you could buy. The P4 was so bad I never owned one. But I guess I don't expect AMD to flip the situation like that again.
