LastPass also works in other chromium-based browsers like Opera. It also works in Maxthon. In fact, I've found it to work in most browsers. My LastPass actually has 3 Gmail passwords saved; mine, my wife's, and my mother's (why, is a long story....). And, I can log into each of them using LastPass. (I will mention that if you are using one browser, you have to log out of Gmail in order to re-login.)
That's a browser/service issue not a LastPass one - LastPass will give you the options if there's more than one account. @MPSAN - if Gmail is important to you, have you looked at two-factor authentication directly to the service? There are various schemes for doing this, including smartphone. I understand you didn't want to tackle Yubikey at this point, but that does also support the U2F standard in some versions, which can be used directly to support two-factor authentication to Google services (which is what Google employees use internally). I'd only observe that it's actually not at all fearsome to set up, and is pretty invisible to the user once you have.
I've been using LastPass for two years without any issues.... MacBook Pro usually browsing with Chromium. I also use it on my iPad, and Android phone. When I signed up with them they claimed a "zero-knowledge" type service meaning your off-site hosted (the cloud) LastPass account should be encrypted and decrypted locally so that even the company itself does not have access to decrypt and read what's on your acccount. As far as I know this is still the case... assuming they're telling the truth and they have no secret backdoors.

LastPass 4.1 has been released. My Firefox and Google Chrome extensions updated automatically to 4.1.2a and 4.1.1 respectively. One obvious difference is a new toolbar icon comprised of three dots. The default black icon doesn't give much visual indication of whether or not the user is logged in, but there are other choices in the extension preferences.
I still have not tried LastPass as I need to have it log in to sites. I see that it will not do this to some sites, or has that been fixed?
Can you say which sites it doesn't work on? Is that something you read? In any case automation has been noticeably improved in v4/v4.1. I would install the free version and test it on the specific sites you use.
OK, will I get the 4.1 if I only try it with Firefox or do I need to install the whole windows version? I had read that various bank sites do not let you log in.
The LastPass extension available in the Mozilla library is still v3.X, however you could install that and see if it will upgrade to version 4.1.2a (latest for Firefox). If not then get the whole package from lastpass.com
I'm not remembering that the installation is that granular, however if you can't prevent the additional installs it would be easy afterward to remove the extensions/plugins from Chrome and/or Internet Explorer.
It does not appear that this package has actually been updated yet. I only get the updated Firefox and Chrome updates by checking for updates within the browsers. The main program and Internet Explorer version still seem to be 4.0
Hello ALL again. I still did not try LastPass, but am about to. I had heard that I can take my IDSafe CSV and add a blank line after the first row...which are the headings. Then there was a post that said we should change the heading a little and add one. Then in the IDSafe csv we should add a 0 after EACH entry and then import the csv to Lastpass. I have the link below... What worked for me was a procedure in the following link, In particular, follow the instructions in the last post authored by John Flyer: https://www.stickypassword.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=85354 So, do we have to do this and should I use LastPass 4 and even 4 on Firefox? Firefox addons still bring us to ver 3. I hope Lastpass works with the multipage logins. I just do not want to "play" with Lastpass if it is not going to help me. Thank You ALL
If you download LastPass from LastPass.com you will get the latest v4 extension for Firefox and any other major browsers you use, such as Chrome, IE, Safari or Opera. RE "multipage logins" without knowing exactly which sites you're referring to there's no way to answer your question. If you install it you will quickly find out though, and if it doesn't meet your expectations just remove it.
Thank You. If I have an issue with a logon, like a Bank, I guess I can ask on the LastPass forum. My only issue with the full d/l from Lastpass is that I thought of just testing with Firefox, but I thought that the full d/l installs it on FF, IE, and Chrome that I have now.
In my post 42 above there is a procedure to "fix" Norton IDSafe data (csv file format) to import to Lastpass. However, some posts say that we need a blank line between the headers and the data...ie: line 2 is blank. Other posts do not say anything about this. Then in the above post 42 link it says to add a field called fav and make it all zeros. Other posts say nothing about this. So, on the Lastpass site I can download ONLY the Lastpass browser extension for Firefox and it shows ver 4.0.0. IF I ONLY download THAT can I use it with Firefox 44.0.2 and setup my Lastpass account without downloading anything else? I am sorry for all the questions but I do not want to "play" with all of this if it will not work and, for now, I only want to try Lastpass on Firefox.
I downloaded the firefox-addon from their homepage "lp4.xpi" and saw in the file: <em:version>4.1.2a</em:version> <em:maxVersion>43.0</em:maxVersion> Only on old Firefoxbrowsers (up to v43) LastPass 4 can be used. On a newer Firefox the only choice is 3.3 Edit: Lastpass 4 can be installed from the development channel on AMO.
That's incorrect. I have v. 4.1.2a running in Firefox 44. It's available on AMO under development versions.
First, I guess I do not know what the AMO is. I looked and do not see this version on it. Second can I ONLY install the FF extension without getting all of LastPass for the PC?
