    Yes you have to create an ini file.

    You have to add also the desired KBs to avoid, in this format: KB_1=3112336
    So you will have a list like this:
    Code:
    [MarkedUpdates]
    KB_1=3112336
    KB_2=3080149
    KB_3=#######
    KB_4=#######
    KB_5=#######
    .
    .
    .

    Don't edit the [MarkedUpdatesColor] part.

    It is already portable, just use the explained .ini or click hide within the tool.

    Of course I don't mind. You can open a new thread for such compilation of telemetry/OSupgrade related updates for both Windows 8.x and 7 or look for one already opened, really don't know.

    Beyond the users themselves, who would bare the responsibility for determining just what earns an entry in WUMT's .ini file as an exclusion? ...and then future removals?

    FWIW, we already have public access to author/consultant Susan Bradley's "Patch Release Grid" at https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=C756C44362CD94AD!2257

    Although the Bork Tuesday thread may contain some value for many, (and I do respect the experiences of others) the thread simply is not representative of the entire global situation.
    Some may see that through the bottom-most spreadsheet tabs, terrific data goes back to December 2014.
    I like an ice cold six-pack and the wisdom that history teaches us even better!:)

    Lest I be grossly misunderstood, I have installed stupid user's WUMT on all my systems and I highly value its capabilities.

    Cheers to you mantra

    Hello mantra:

    Return to Susan Bradley's Patch Release Grid at https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=C756C44362CD94AD!2257.
    1. Near the upper-right corner, click the Three Dots just beneath Sign in.
    2. From the menu, click Download.
    3. In the next window that opens, click the Save File radio button then click the OK button.
    The resultant downloaded/saved file, in your browser's default download directory, should be Patch%20release%20Grid%20.xlsx.

    @Mr. X

    I'm trying to update Win7 32 bit, from fresh install, all went well for a bunch of updates, then WU failed. Tried 360Total "patch up" limited success.
    Now MS WU will scan for updates, but won't complete scanning, 5hrs later it's still scanning.

    WU Minitool - does the same, just scans & scanning won't complete.

    Tried like everything

    Thanks
    Rico

    @Rico When you do the initial check for updates it can take hours to complete. Just let it run, and in time it will complete.

    If you want, you can speed up the time it takes to check for updates by installing hte latest version of Windows Update Agaent and KBKB3102810. Have a look at this post.

    After the clean install windows updated smoothly, found & installed, at or near, or around SP1 (SP1 installed), WU's went South. Now 360 total can see but cannot install, scanned for 24 hrs & it's still scanning.

    Tried all the Fix It's
    Spinrite hdd no errors
    SFC /scannow
    WU troubleshooter
    Windows stand alone installer hours just scanning
    tweaking.com repair

    last error was 0X800F081F

    tried regserv32 dll's

    found a few times while WU is scanning, services were off (not started) Bits, or occasionally WU, or Windows installer, tried starting all started re-scan. Just scanning for hours. Tried Win 10 update just scans. Thought similar to DISM online... , theat the stand alone would help but just scan. Tried MS download cannot install manually, as this brings up, MS standalone installer which just scans.

    Used File assassin on the dll associated with 0x800f081f, (saved copy), then run SFC /scannow. SFC did not replace the file regsvr fails here also

    Update - I tried clean install of win 7 again, Sp1 installed, then got from WU "Windows Update Agent" 7.6.7600.320 installed, it resumed checking for up dates, error 80244019, try again error 8007000E. At Keyboard & Languages the option for Display Languages does not appear.

    Call M$ they tried many things & cannot fix. The solution now being tried, is from getintopc. c o m. Dl & install a one year old win7 home premium iso file. Format reinstall, in hopes this bypasses the previous problems.

    Well after the relatively new DL & install of win 7, same problems, as before, WU did one or two updates error-ed, & scanned for many hours & still kept scanning. 360 Total found the updates 100+ installed one & quit.

    Now will try win10

    I tried updating to win10, the install routine has two check for updates, to complete. It took this time approx 30 hrs. to complete the final check for updates, in win 10, install procedure.

    So far all those that advised patience & wait KUDO's you were correct!

    Thanks
    Rico

    All those hours checking for updates win 10, sitting at 0% completed seems broken

    Hi,

    I would like to request a feature (assuming such an implementation was even possible).

    First the foundation of this request: I am running many Win7/Ent/SP1 PCs, which I keep fully patched. When there are problems with installing updates, the traditional approach has been to find and download the failing update(s) and install it/them manually. Recently, however, Microsoft has posted some updates that can be downloaded only from Microsoft Update and that can no longer be found and downloaded as a separate executable. Thus, if there's a problem with Windows Update, the file or files cannot be downloaded separately for manual install.

    So, would it be possible to add an "extraction" feature to WinUpMinitool's GUI that would allow the user to select a downloaded update and "extract" it to a specific folder so that it could then be manually installed?
