    Old version of Linux, and probably no backups... Not blaming the victim, but you gotta be prepared these days.

    I see the hackers have upped the ante a bit; to $3.6 million. I also suspect this was a Windows installation; can't see a major U.S. hospital running Linux.

    It's a nasty bit of work agreed. But I think organizations with mission critical operations have to FN wake up. But still ******** blackmailing a hospital.

    Hospitals better tighten up now. They just became juicy targets.

    Actually, web based e-commerce is a joke. Time to reinvent the wheel and either fork up the money to built a secure network for e-commerce, or go back to paper and using the phone.

    Couldn't agree more. It's only a matter of time as usual.

    Maybe they should revert to microfilm?
