The words are probably not correct but what I want is to take small parts (like 1 minute 20 seconds or whatever) from a 30 minute episode (for ex.) and then put the handful of parts together in one single video. Maybe add a blur effect from one bit of video to another.
Can someone advice a program? Preferably simple :doubt:

    Thanks.

What video format (mp4, avi, ...)? With re-encoding (slow) or without re-encoding (fast)? Frame accurate or key frame accurate? Free or ...?

@Joxx You might want to have a look at CyberLink's PowerDirector. You can v13 LE for free at the moment.

I only understood video format (any) and free (yes)
Thanks, I'll give it a go.
That looks like what I'm looking for, I'll give it a go as well.

Avidemux rings a bell. I'll try it also.

Thanks to all, I think I have enough to get me going.

    You're welcome.

Btw, Avidemux supports "Copy" mode (editing without re-encoding aka converting) which is much much faster. Of course, if you use effects (ie blur) than, if I remember, you can't use the "Copy" mode.
Just don't forget to select correct format before saving your video in "Copy" mode.
    (Input mp4 = Output mp4)

    Last XP version: http://sourceforge.net/projects/avidemux/files/avidemux/2.6.8/
