    HitmanPro.Alert 3.1.5 Build 355 PreRelease

If you are going to try the new Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14251 then upgrade Alert first to build 355 or newer. Microsoft introduced an 'its-not-a-bug-its-a-feature' in 14251 where build 355 is working around.

    Changelog
    • Added support for Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14251 (Redstone)
    • Improved compatibility with Avast! on Windows 8.1 x64
    • Improved uninstall information.
    • Improved uninstall of hmpnet.sys on 32-bit systems.
    • Updated several translations.

Please let me know how this version runs on your computer :thumb:

    Upgraded smoothly over Build 353.

Still inconsistent border around WLM. ;)

Ah.. I see. The flyout does appear on whichever browser I open first after startup and subsequently doesn't show when any browser is opened or reopened.
    Thank you.

Open Alert and go to Safety Notifications > change it to At application start (recommended).

Vaccination changed from active to passive, although this was not a fresh install, but an upgrade from build 352.

Don't know, if this happend on an earlier upgrade, or on upgrade to build 355.

I will check on twelve machines, that I'm monitoring, when the next regular upgrade is automatically installed.

Running avast! on Win 10 x64 (upgraded from 8.1) and IE now launches fine with all hmpa protection enabled for it.
    Nice work people. :thumb: :)

    Couple of problems:
Chrome crashed on first download attempt, as soon as Save As dialogue appeared. Some blah blah about "The description for Event ID 1 from source Chrome cannot be found.". So, I really have no idea at present.

Second thing is that hmpa took an abnormally long time to get started after reboot. Looks like it actually crashed, but it did recover by itself and all running smoothly now.

    P.s.
I gather there probably was a good reason to change Vaccination state to Passive by default.
Can someone explain the difference between the Active and Passive modes, please?

Good catch! I checked both of my machines and they were both set to Passive. It looks like we will have to check all settings after each update.

    HitmanPro.Alert 3.1.3 Build 353 PreRelease

    Changelog
    • Fixed BadUSB upgrade issue where older version had BadUSB explicitly turned off, turned on upon upgrade.
    • Changed Vaccination default from Active to Passive on fresh installs
    • Improved compatibility with Kaltura
Post #8505 I think might give a clue why it was done.
Tho the Changelog does say "fresh installs", I now notice. If that is the case, then it shouldn't apply to Upgrade installation.

    So, yeah.. You're right.

Upgrade from build 352 to 255 went smoothly. The only thing I noticed was vaccination was changed from active to passive.

    Hi Erik!

When will MSI install packages available for the Enterprise Environments (because msi packages works better in remote deployment) ? The current .exe setup packages not works well with third party remote deployment tools.

    Cheers,

W7-x64 Prof.: Upgrade from hmp.alert build 352 to build 355 went without issues. However the reboot after installation took an unusual long time!
Confirmed: Vaccination was indeed changed from active to passive, manually set to active again.

    I also noticed this.
And I may be wrong, but I think HMP.A installs also seem to mess with a custom toolbar on my Task Bar (I have to create it afresh).

ok will test the new beta on my win10 box before I update the build on it, I dont know if its fixed but I just noticed on windows 10 there is no hitman icon in the system tray.

The bug I reported on my laptop erik confirmed it in his tests, I will try the latest beta on that to see if works also.

by the way, there is a way to export/import the settings we have done? i manually protected many apps and i like doing clean installs so it is a pain to re-protect them when i reinstall HMPA.
