Comodo Cloud Antivirus Beta Releases

Discussion in 'other anti-virus software' started by wasgij6, Nov 4, 2015.

  1. What would be the logic?

    a) On whitelist (check trusted vendors list) in behavioral blocker: ALLOW
    b) ELSE, on blacklist (check in the cloud for known bad):BLOCK
    c) ELSE, on greylist: SANDBOX unknown (and upload to Valkyre)?

When greylisted software turns out to be safe after analysis, how would they promote software in the sandbox to the real system?

There must be a local hash based whitelist to learn from its user base? so logic would be

    a) Check trusted vendors list (in behavioral blocker): ALLOW
    b) ELSE: check the local hash whitelist: ALLOW
    c) ELSE: check the cloud whitelist: ALLOW and add to the local hash based whitelist\
    d) ELSE: check the cloud blacklist: BLOCK
    e) ELSE: SANDBOX unknown (and upload to Valkyre)?

Signature check should always be done first, then you do the rest if nothing is declared there.

What about CIS 9 beta? It looks like they are focusing only on the cloud project now.

And it' still not registered with Action Center, it's still just as slow as it was. CIS at least works well now with the fast SSD cache that I'm using now so it's not grinding my HDD's to death anymore. But here, it seems like cloud is taking so long to respond it's simply stalling the apps to death (10-20 second game/program startups just can't be acceptable.

Are you kidding? does it require to wait for a cloud response before opening a file? I guess once is trusted, or most of the files of the pc are trusted it will be much more lighter

And I'm just suppose to eat up the horrendously slow first time runs? It's bloody even worse than Windows Defender and that one was really bad to begin with... CIS on the other hand, no problems. AV is a bit slow on big files but at least doesn't take forever for the usual small stuff.

No details provided as of yet. He's got to do the responsible disclosure route first. But when he shows his concern, I trust him.

I respect Travis too, that's why I asked. Checked the twitter post and saw some comodo staff replying. Let's see what happens after they talk about his concerns.

    Thanks for confirming.

Just taken a quick peek at their forums and even though advertised as final still appears to be many silly bugs not addressed.
Such a shame as has so much promise :(

I wonder if they ever fixed the horrible lag when opening programs. It was present in all the betas I tried.

    I dont agree.

CCAV not registered in security center prob is there. And a language change bug.
What many silly bugs are you talking? I dont see any other reported in the forum.

It doesn't register in security center so I didn't installed on production system.
But tried under shadow defender & overall works fine & didn't faced any probs yet.
Yes little lag for the first time of progams opening but better than previous beta. And dont know if the little lag is could be system restart needed & I couldn't restart system as its installed under shadow defender. But couple users reported running fine.

So, Windows still doesn't detect CCAV. Blimey, and they needed all this extra time. For what exactly?
