Why Skip, Proceed, No Thanks & Customize & make it confusing?
Why not simple Default & Advanced? Default will enable default filters/settings & Advanced will show either optional filters/settings only OR will show default & optional filters/settings both BUT default filters/settings checked & optional unchecked.

    http://www.clipconverter.cc/

The website is to download YouTube videos. Copy YT video url & paste & hit continue. It will give video download options. Select & hit start. It will give you download video tab...now when download is clicked download starts but a window also opens that mostly has those fake Flash & Java downloads like your flash/java is old & update now.
On IE Adguard malware/phishing protection blocks this page.
On Chrome, Vivaldi Beta 2 & Edge the page is not blocked.

ABP too doesn't blocks the page.
    uBlock Origin blocks the page.

    Win 10 64
All the browsers are in filtered apps.
At the time of Adguard test...uBlock & ABP were disabled & Browsers were restarted.

It's pretty the same, but with additional button to disable the whole module without going deeper.

What do you think about renaming "Proceed" button to something like "Enable & Proceed"? Will it make things more clear?

The UI is a bit unclear, but anyway you'd better remove that adware as soon as possible.

Blocking ads injected by it may be a temporary solution, but who knows what it will do in future? This adware may install you anything it wants, even malware.

You mention "additional button"...that's my point no need of additional button...the purpose can be achieved in a simple way. And as you say without going deeper. Clicking on Advanced can show module wise default/optional stuffs with "Next" tab. But yes as I have mentioned in every post of mine default stuffs should be checked & optional stuffs should be unchecked to let users know clear whats default & whats optional before taking any action.

    That will make things unclear.

Just imaging, you get to step about "social widgets blocking".
There's a description of that feature and two buttons (default and advanced).

How can user understand what is "default" in that case?
Will it enable that feature or not?

    You got it all wrong.

I meant getting started should show default & advanced.
If the users select default then default is installed & wizard closes or shows finish button.
If users selects advanced then module wise you can show default & optional filters/settings listed with checkbox (default checked & optional unchecked).

    Hope its clear now.

    I think now I understand.

That will be hell of a lot checkboxes then:)

Wizards purpose is to make things easier and to describe main program functions. List of checkboxes cannot do it.

I mean 80% of users won't even go to program settings after installation.
On the contrary, power users will inspect program settings with or without wizard.

I hope I am making it simple & clear this time.

You have skip, proceed, no thanks, customize in the wizard.

And I am saying make it simple default & advanced i.e -

Users click default - default is enabled & finish button.

Users click advanced - modules/options/filters are shown i.e modules/filters/options you currently show in the wizard... BUT if the filters/options you currently show in the wizard has any default filters/options it should be prechecked & optional filters/options should be unchecked to let the user know that prechecked are default & unchecked are optional. So users can uncheck any default they dont want & can check any optional they want & continue wizard & finish.

By the way what happened to RC 2 that was to be released on mon or tue?

I dont know why but adguard hates my parents computer. When i install the latest RC build their internet connection is completely gone. The only way to get their internet to work again is to uninstall adguard, even disabling doesnt help.

I have tried many different ways of connecting to the internet. Wired through motherboard, on board wireless, asus pcie wireless card. Seems like a driver issue since i have to uninstall to fix their connection. I can connect to my wireless network and windows says im connected but it says no internet access.

    v5 works fine.

    @avatar any ideas?
    thanks

What are the real advantages of Adguard compared to extensions like uBlock Origin etc?

Adguard is system-wide, therefore it filters any and all network traffic on your system that you configure it to do so. It can filter mail programs like Thunderbird, Windows modern apps, etc. It intercepts the HTTP traffic directly on the kernel level and is quite a bit more efficient, then replaces the elements/ads and delivers to browser or whatever program you are filtering.

With browser extensions such as uBlock, the browsers own architecture/bugs/etc can play a role in the overall performance of the filtering and browser use, RAM, CPU, and so on. So for example, while Firefox was quite often known to be a memory hog with Adblock Plus, taking away the browser extension filtering and doing that filtering on the kernel level with a network intercepting driver such as Adguard is just far more superior as far as performance and efficiency goes. And of course, there are always Pros/Cons either way, whether you go with something like Adguard or Admuncher, versus browser extension.

The only thing that may cause it is a network driver.

So, first of all, check what type of the network driver is selected in AG settings.
    Try rebooting computer.
Try switching the network driver type.

Just an idea for Adguard for Desktop

Add an overlay counter of Blocked Ads on the Adguard Assistant, without relying on a browser extension?

Also, an option "Show counter of Blocked Ads on the Adguard Assistant"? - for those who prefer to choose between a counter or no counter.

I'm not even sure if it is possible, but I would love to see the amount of blocked ads, without needing a browser extension or opening up the program itself, to see the statistics.

    Can this be done?

    or

    Not really?

Anyways, I do think the Adguard team is doing an excellent job, keep up the wonderful work.

    Have a nice day!

Any details if the upcoming will be a new RC or final?
    Any ETA for final?

I like Dont filter EV certificates option in V6 RC. The option is not there in V5. And I only use stable release on production system so waiting for final.

^ I think they keep on over promising. Its almost like vaporware atm. Never even should have said any thing until they knew for SURE of a release. Its coming its coming. That is all we here. Should have been out over a month ago. Really how much more beta testing do they need from users? Do their own since people are actually being paid over there. This is exactly how places like this cut costs and always takes longer to release then what they say. A bit harsh? Maybe. But, someone had to say it. Maybe they will listen in the future.
