Luckily I use Windows 8.1 Enterprise edition on my work computers. I feel sorry for people and companies that will be "victims" of this forced upgrades.
I don't know what has changed when it comes to compatibility problems.

Last time I used Windows, which was not 2 months ago, I fully updated it but never got that "Get Windows 10" thing. My original DVD is from 2010, so there's a LOT to update. Right before selecting the updates that I wanted to install, I looked at this thread to see which updates to avoid, it worked fine for me. Can't business do that too? Or is there some sort of policy that forces them into updating all Windows components?

It would just further complicate an already difficult process to have that going on in a business environment... it would basically spell disaster if they forced 10 on corporate users.

in austria/europe that already happend. at some gamma ray operation centers the ray using software was not win10 compatible and so hundreds of center were paralyzed for a few days. disaster for patients.

ofc not MS to blame they had no working admin and the software itself is/was buggy.

and now GWX is changing registry settings? wth idiots at MS working?
MS is abusing its power, see also here

they want to get rid of any other except windows 10, but the percentage for win10 is minor who cares.

(i have win10 ltsb for testing purpose, main os is windows 8, next is win7, at last win10)
