Sill persevering with HMPA in one of my snapshots... even though I haven't received much support, I guess because I am running on XP, still.

However, since a failed upgrade to F-Secure Safe and a reboot advised at the end, now HMPA fails to load. Also, during the failed upgrade, I lost the taskbar briefly, and when it returned it was not in it's usual position at the bottom of the screen. Any ideas how to get back to that position? Never had that happen before.

Well, F-Secure Safe is OK, it seems...Just lost HMPA, for the time being being.

My fault...I had forgotten that I changed the start up mode in services, to manual, previously when I has been in that particular snapshot. HMPA is back! I just have to work out the failure of the upgrade for F-Secure Safe.

    http://www.surfright.nl/en/alert says,
"Supports 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP"

Have you ever contacted SurfRight support for HMP and HMPA by e-mail? I think it's the main support channel.
You could try that, next time there's any issue.
You'll find the contact mail address at the support page, http://www.surfright.nl/en/support/

Correct. It was a Norton thread inside Alert causing it. You can see via Process Explorer and then Threads and then on the thread with the highest load Show Stack.

    Erik,
Can you explain why it was affecting both of my machines at the exact same time and was also affecting deugniet also at the same time?
    Thanks,
    Dave

The cause is in Norton's code. I have no more information at this moment.

    Hi Guys,

i made an account specially for your consult :)

    I bought an 3 year license for 3 pc's, 2 win10 pc's and 1 server 2012R2.x64
Both Win10 pc's activated just fine.

The server just won't activate.. when i try the activation i get the green bar running, then the activation popup disappears and it still says its not activated.
When i open hitmanPro through the scan button it says activated, i can also track this back to the log file in c:\programdata\hitmanpro\logs where it says:
    License . . . . . . . : Paid (1086 days left)

i've tried reinstalling it a few times now, also deleted everything (i think) out of the register i could find regarding hitman. i ran ccleaner after doing so.
i deleted everything i could find from the C drive regarding hitman..

i have contact with their support through mail however i thought it wouldn't hurt asking here as well.

    the hardware is as following:
    I3 4360 3.7ghz
    16GB ECC Kingston memory
    Gigabyte H97M-D3H motherboard
    Server 2012 R2 x64 build: 6.3.9600

I hope someone has a way for me to activate it.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks Erik. It's odd that the few times this has happened it has happened to both of my machines at the same time. Perhaps an update from Norton triggers it?

Could be. I might provide a fix to block Norton in Alert.

There will be an update tomorrow; build 346. Several improvements and fixes. Keep posted :thumb:

Q: so, did Alert mitigate an Anti-VM exploit because there's malicious code designed to prevent analysis in sandbox trying to run in my sandbox...or, is there simply generic malware trying to run in my sandbox...? #8222
