Copperhead is awesome. They are changing from Cyanogenmod to AOSP and I have not updated yet but I assume they will do a good job. Secure spaces works well although getting multirom on it has been problematic. Im sure I can get it working smoothly but I have not had time. Its not in the same tier of security as Copperhead on security but makes a good day to day rom
It is sort of the dilemma between the two. Yes Copperhead is far more secure but the problem is that any application run must be very carefully vetted. Secure Spaces does seem to allow for running less secure applications in isolation but without the security hardening (PAX kernel plus many many others). How is the performance on the Nexus 5 of Copperhead? Suitable for basic usage?
Looks like Nexus 6P support should be coming at the end of April in the main release https://github.com/copperhead/bugtracker/milestones/Release I will forgo getting a Nexus 5 and get a 6P. It is not the performance that is an issue but I like the larger screen size and the additional memory. I will probably keep my existing phone for insecure usage and have it connected to wifi. Also have ordered a cheap burner phone (cheapo candy bar without data access) and a 12,000 mAh (no typo) battery that will help when I need to give a telephone number to people.
Yes, this blog post about Copperhead OS Beta says: Very interesting! I didn't know that CM was so bad security-wise. Clear words from Daniel Micay. I know him as the maintainer of the linux-grsec kernel for Arch Linux. He should know what he's doing.
Hmm, I wonder if the security issues are true even for nightly releases of Cyanogen for Nexus devices?
Hi Guys, I realize this is an old post, but if you're interested in the SecureSpaces ROM, we post our release info to XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/development/rom-secure-spaces-rom-t3327432 If you have any questions or feedback we're happy to hear from you. @graphiterom
Looks like someone(s) really didn't want them to release that ROM, I wonder who that could have been...
