    After using your suggestion for a while, I can report that works great!

    Very good balance between protection/privacy and usability.

    Let us know if we need to block more common 3rd parties sites... ;)

    @hay,

    how have you got uBlock set up? I really encourage you to try enhanced Easy mode if you're looking for a no-frills yet decent blocking mode. So much less guesswork this way.

    Firefox 43.0.2 automatically updated to UBO 1.5.0 today. However, my Chromium browser was still stuck at 1.3.3, so I had to uninstall it and reinstall from the Chrome store just to get 1.4.0, which is the "current" listed version there. I expect to have to do the same to get 1.5.0.

    You're welcome hay! I seem to remember breakage issues when I blocked web fonts, but it doesn't hurt to try it and see what happens. The uBlocko wiki has lots excellent and informative info :)

    blocking web fonts brakes in most cases website design, either squares with numbers or shifted unexpected.
    at least there is a trend visible to get webfonts from central google.
    i think thats not possible with uBlock, but with uMatrix
    * fonts.googleapis.com * allow

    @gorhill

    I have a question about the https://github.com/gorhill/uMatrix/issues/221 "thing" yet:

    I found out with the Fx example from the github thread (https://www.google.ch/maps/ --> http://www.swissvpn.net/) that it's NOT a problem, if I WRITE the address in the omnibar.

    This means: if I open the new link in same tabe with a Mouse click or Enter from Bookmarks, it's a "problem" (google will appear in uMatrix matrix) - if I write the new link and press Enter, (opens also in the same tab) it's not a problem.

    Can you explain this yet, please?

    should I be using 'noscript' plug in conjunction with this?

    You could as long as you allow scripts globally in NoScript. It won't conflict with uBlock but will still provide Anti-XSS, HTTPS enforcement and Clickjacking protection.

    I have noticed that not all updates seem to apply for chrome.
    Pale moon version has updated to 1.5.1.

    Same experience here with uBlock Origin updates on Chrome.
    I have to manually install latest UO on Chrome.

    When I visit relatives & check their system UO is always older version on Chrome.

    yes because some of the updates do NOT apply to chrome.If you read the changelog it does clarify this.

    You mean to say UO 1.4, 1.5 doesn't apply to Chrome?
    I waited for few days for UO on Chrome to auto update but it didn't. Finally I manually updated from 1.3 to 1.4.

    UPDATE -
    UO for Chrome 1.5.2 released.
    I will wait for few days & see auto-updates or not.

    @ gorhill

    Why not make an option to access the settings from the extensions button? This is something that I really miss.
