What they need to do is improve the Gecko browsing engine, give more GUI customization options out of the box, and make the bookmarks manager tab based with an option to easily assign keywords to favorites. Gecko feels slow compared to the Blink engine, and doesn't load all sites correctly. It's these things why I can't make FF my default browser.

the new webextension may can do that for you, we will see in a year when the old XUL system will be deprecating.
gecko is dead, mozilla has already another new engine. and not comparable to blink/chromium, neither nor. thats not possible.
but i wont destroy your dreams...

I didn't know that they are planning to replace Gecko, I hope it will be as good as Blink. I also hope that the FF sandbox will not become a disaster, especially when it comes to resource usage and compatibility with Sandboxie. And finally, they should stop with this "plugin container" nonsense, it's horrible and a lot of Flash video sites don't work correctly.

you should read more the mozillazine forums. there is no issue with flash or plugin-container, its opt-out in flash plugins settings. why do you always think and write such nonsens about firefox?

When a browser employs a separate tabbed browsing experience higher resource usage is to be expected and cannot be really avoided.
if it were possible google would of done it by now with chrome.

The above article also shows mozilla claiming it is facing financial woes. How do they justify a £300million cost for developing a browser..?.
We must remember that this is the mozilla non-profit face they are putting on when they claim financial struggles, but what about the mozilla corporation itself which is a totally different entity but is tied to the non-profit organisation.

When mozilla claims it is low on funds this is the non-profit face they are wearing when in reality the mozilla corporation is fully backing them up.

It's based on my own experience, I just hate it when the plug-in container loads each and every time, it's sluggish. And BTW, the bookmarks manager is even worse than I thought, you can't even copy and paste multiple favorites to other folders, are these guys for real?

Even worse, with such revenue I expected a way better browser, it should have been perfect.

What do you mean lot of flash video sites won't correctly. Can you give few sites urls for example, for me to check?
I view lot of videos (tv serials) through many flash player sites. And none of them causes me any issues..

    Perfect for whom..?
No such thing as a perfect browser in the general sense as this is virtually an impossibility.Firefox is certainly not a bad browser but is it a browser that justifies such high revenue to create.?

    you "expect"? roflmao.
ok how much money are you willing to spend they will invent the perfect browser for you?

please stop your ranting, moaning, whining. either you become a developer for mozilla and can make decisions or go feedback - or leave firefox and get a more decent browser for your needs. but remember, firefox + its derivates, chrome + its derivates are FREE, you dont have to pay nothing if you want to.

and now go and take your simple thinking with you.

My advice is: stop your ranting, moaning, whining about me complaining over FF. :D

It's actually people like you who do the "simple thinking", you need people like me in order for products to improve. Fact of the matter is that Gecko is not as good as Blink. On my old machine without SSD, it took 20 seconds to start up (cold start). The bookmarks manager is a joke. And last but not least, I need extensions for basic stuff like mouse gestures and tab management. In other words, not good enough, and I don't give a damn that it's free.

Perfect for power users, you know like Opera back in the days, and like Vivaldi is trying to be.

I have to admit, some problems may also be caused by web developers, but if it works in Chrome there is no excuse. Plus the plugin container is sluggish, it will trigger high CPU usage which will make FF freeze, perhaps only for milliseconds, but still annoying. Here are some sites where I'm having problems:

Actually I'm ROFL at the idea that Mozilla is such a wonderful altruistic organization that it and its products are above criticism.

  14. When will it be ready? 2016, 2017, 2018? Remember how they struggle with electrolysis (now three years overdue and counting)

I forgot to mention, that I don't feel motivated to send feedback, because FF has been around since 2004, and they still couldn't figure these things out. I'm currently using FF as a temporary solution for the dead of Opera 12, in the coming months I will most likely switch to Vivaldi.

@SnowWalker - actually i am not satisfied with the upcoming changes in firefox, in fact i have doubt firefox will survive 2017/2018. although they invent in a joint venture the new extension system webextensions - for all browser - none has a working sample neither is clear if or which extension author is willing to develop its wheel again from scratch. in fact firefox can use webkit css and its under development and mozilla will remove the internal whitelist (japan). so for me - if there wont be an acceptable solution for extensions i definitely would drop firefox and change to chrome. sad but i would.

"altruism" - if you mean a non-profit company - bla - ofc they need money like every company. dropping seamoney, dropping FFOS, dropping Thunderbird - not sure about Lightning, shared inventions, losing developers - mozilla has lost a lot of its spirit and reality got them back. if its time to change then i will be.

yes, vivaldi, i am watching it - i hope it would have same power als opera 12 again. but vivaldi mail is still a second product like opera mail became. vivaldi as a browser-only concept hast to prove against chrome.

I played the videos multiple times at both the links. And i don't see any freezes. UI is responsive (i.e., could navigate between the tabs, while the player is loading..). However, I had to noop 3P Script/IFrame on these sites to play the video's properly. As, i don't know whatever the lang. it is.. :)

Here is my FF - Its a 64 bit, uBlock Origin.

May be an extension to blame? What do you use? Try the following steps and see if it resolves the issue, and perhaps you figure the culprit extension -
    - Create a new profile.
    - Add one extension after the other and try playing your videos..

FF is my primary browser as of now. And will think of Edge when it has extensions support..
Edit: Vivaldi - this is another one, i will take a look at it once a stable version is released..

I tested it with standard Flash Player settings, with FF in safe mode (no extensions) and with FF running outside the sandbox. But it still wouldn't work. And my security tools are also not blocking anything related to this. I don't have any of these problems with Chrome.
