    Hi
i have 2 questions about veracrypt keyfile size

there is an option keyfile random size -> 64 bytes and 1048576 bytes
i tried and it created a keyfile about 1mb

    1)
is it (the keyfile about 1mb ) more safe then a 64byte keyfiles ?

    2) is there a way to change the system tray icon ?

just because i'm paranoid about truecrypt is there 100% safe webpage to download it ?
i downloaded from truecrypt.ch ,they did promise to update and don't let truecrypt die but ..no news about it

    thanks

TrueCrypt only exists as officially released by the original TrueCrypt team. It is available from various sources in its original form. Here is a link to the hashes of the original files so you can be sure you're getting the real thing. https://defuse.ca/truecrypt-7.1a-hashes.htm IMO, I would not trust or use anything called TrueCrypt but version 7.1a verified by checking the hash.

As you are obviously already aware, VeraCrypt makers have taken TrueCrypt and improved the code in a few areas (including a couple of security weaknesses found in TrueCrypt). Based on reputation, it's the only TrueCrypt fork I'd be comfortable with.

I'm no crypto expert but it would seem to me that a larger key file size is better.

Any icon change ability would have to be supported by VeraCrypt. If you can't find anything, it's probably not there.
