    Hey all!

Found this forum via the almighty Google. I've upgraded to Win 10, factory formatted every thing (to make it a "clean" install instead), and loaded up all the programs again

What Im looking for is just to get a SINGLE image (ever) backed up on another drive. My whole reasoning being is that I can go back to a "working image of the OS" ie: overtime Windows does get a bit buggy on the hard drive. Im not interested in incremental backups, or continued backups

I just want a SINGLE image. I've used Acronis in the past for my Windows 8 backup (That I havent tested) but Im considering going for the free ones instead. What's worth getting? I've narrowed it down to Paragon and Macrium reflect

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

I can't speak for Paragon as I've never used it. I've only used Macrium and haven't had a reason to use anything else. It's very dependable and easy to use.

both are good imagers. Try Macrium first, and also use Paragon as a secondary backupper. This way you don't put all your eggs in one basket. In case one imagers falls short, you have the other one to get you covered.

In fact Macrium FREE has been so good to me with my Win 10 64bit, SSD and HDD that I bought it. I, too, only use full images and have had the FREE do a few restores when I had some issues. It always worked well and restored all 4 partitions.

Ah tbf that's a good shout! Might well do that tbh. I have used Acronis here when I did Win8, but Ive never actually tested it!

Hmm I've noticed that "Macrium redeploy" is something Id like ie: IF I get rid of this laptop, I can redeploy the image on some newer hardware..

I remember that feature is only available in the paid version. Acronis can also do it with plus pack addon.

This question is off topic here. Ask in the Macirum thread

Sorry to go offtopic but since the topic was for image i posted aomei since that is also an option
I have been using aomei for more than a year and making a backup image is 3x-4x faster on aomei and haven't had a single problem with reliability yet , not to mention it is much easier to create a backup in aomei , in macrium there are lots of options to choose

I've had several Restoration Failures with AOMEI.

In addition, their Forum didn't address

    my inquiries timely and properly.
