Please use Windows 7 & 8.1. Why do you want to test it on Win 10? Most AVs are having problem wit Win 10.

Yes I still use it. Why bother diabling QVM even if is possible? Just whitelest the files detected. QVM once saved my PC's life. It was a local virus that BD and Avira didn't even pick up from the flash drive. Upon opening the flash drive, QVM jumped into action. So did Comodo's sandbox.

I can't understand how some people have so many FP? Unless one donwload and run new programs everyday then yes. If one sticks to what one already have, Q360 won't make a sound.

No popup (ads - asking you to buy/upgrade to xxx), not bundle with additional program, free, high detection rates. What more can anyone ask for?

A couple of my new computers came with Windows 10 already installed. Why go backwards?

Probably because that's what he's using. Suggesting anyone use Windows 8 make you a very, very bad person in my opinion. :) hehe

Because white-listing a few files every few days is a nuisance. Additionally, that many FPs desensitizes users to security alerts (boy crying wolf all the time is eventually ignored...except by the wolf).

Was it confirmed malware or just an unrecognised file? I've already seen folks throw out legitimate files because Qihoo "saved the day" (without a second opinion, like VirusTotal or Anubis).

Trigger-happy heuristics and over-reliance on reputation/propagation is why. Qihoo isn't the first to have this problem; that's why, after reaching the tipping point, AV-marketers-testors include FPs in their rankings. There are understandable FPs (that double-archived game mod from 20 years ago) and there are unacceptable FPs (Signed, mature files from trusted publishers).

The endless FPs to stop rather than to be responded with "e-mail the sample [of potential malware] to us" (no kidding; I got that about a dozen times before I quit).

True. Not just AV vendors, software companies would also need a transitional period to adapt whenever a New Windows version rolls out. Especially with 64bit versions.

I agree that most people would have none or minimal FPs, some IT programmers/achived game players/achived file users etc would encounter some; so for those folks it would be nice if they have a choice to turn off the QVM engine.

Overall speaking, 360 is a very good and competent Free AV. ( No yearly registration, no non-functional pop-ups, fast bootup time, runs extremely smoothly on Windows and bundled with useful additional functionalities on 360TS )

Win10 has been available for over a year for development and testing. "Need more time" a month after launch leaves me wondering about companies that are supposed to be ahead of daily-changing threats.

64-bit has been prevalent since Vista and doesn't have the vulnerabilities native to 32-bit OS/programs. At that point the baseline (Windows Defender) isn't even exceeded.

I am using Windows 7 and not planning to upgrade. Win 8.1 & 10 are all bad. Ugly as hell, too many spyware stuff, marketing.

And why would they need to white list in the first place if they are using it everyday just for browsing the web, opening word, powerpoint, pdf, watching some video from the hard disk, listening to music?

I can't confirm it but I am guessing it is cause it's from a flash drive fresh from the local cyber cafes with random name (the file). Comodo also auto sandbox it upon opening the flash drive.

Well I only get them like what once every 6 months or longer than that? Have been usng for more than a year already. (Previously from Q360IS)

That's you but we were talking about yesnoo. You make recommendations based on the users' requirements and preferences, not your own.
I don't know who "they" are but that was my experience with 360. I should never have to manually whitelist files digitally signed by Microsoft, Google, et. al.
    Nope.
Again, that's you. You and I are one data point...not enough to asses the overall efficacy of a product. However, it's enough of an issue for Qihoo to disable QVM for a test.
I can't recommend downgrading your OS for security software. If you have <=3GB RAM, however, I would recommend running 32-bit anyway.

Software providers do need time to fix issues, even Microsoft would need to launch regular patches for Windows years after it's first launch; that's just a normal phenomenon in this imperfect world that we live in, so let's be more mercyful ! ;)

I also like Win7 very much, and I am in no hurry to use Win10; I think I would make a clone disk of my Win7 and use it to upgrade to Win10 sometime next year ( before the 1 year free upgrade period expires )

This may not work for some as those flagged files might need updating, then 360 will flag again on the updated files. so if a person has many flagged files that need to be updated after whitelisting, the cycle will begin again. So for those few they might need to look elsewhere for an alternative AV.

Well, have a Happy Day, guys.

Well he can always dump win 10 until it is much more stable.

They are those who need to whitelist. Weird Files by Mircosoft, Google? Mine was flagged because they are portable programs.

    What's that suppose to mean?

My point is after installing, run your programs. It should ask your question on files it dows not know. After that if your system is static (no changes, except windows updates, software updates), it should not ask again. Take updates of sandboxie, comodo, IDM. All updated on my PC and it didn't popup anything saying that they are suspicious. Quiet as a church mouse.

I don't see the need of paying MS everytime they come out with a new OS. Why should one continue to pay MS for an OS one use to watch movies, do some office works, lstening to music, checking email online? If Win 10 is giving problems to many security program, why stick it? Better downgrade to something stable and wait for Win 10 to become stable. Win 10 is a rushed product.

I am not downgrading. I am happy with my Win 10 64.
Just wanted to know if 360 keylogger protection works on Win 10 32 Bits or its simply doesn't works on Win 10.

I also noticed that SpyShelter and Zemana both fail keylogger tests in Windows 10 64.

This is correct as 360 repeatedly demonstrated to me.

One piece of software not working on 10 does not make the OS unstable.

(However, Windows Explorer regularly restarting itself does indicate such.)

When you add file to trust list it gives you an option to not scan the file even if it is updated.

At the time when I used it, it didn't work. It may have been fixed since then.

Odds are it will mean some of the employees will find themselves out of a job. As to the software I suspect it will mean it going down the pan as they try to monetize it.

You really think they spent all that money and they wont be trying to monetize things like this? I have yet to come across a takeover that did not result in loss of staff and eventually a major change to existing projects.

That is what I think as well.

Not yet perhaps, but it is not impossible at all. Lets hope he really will keep it free, time will have to tell I guess.

Qihu already monetizes it's services by other means, such as cloud storage premium, adverts for searches and gaming, corporate protection, phishing protection, consumer assistance with fixing computer problems, etc.....
Existing international projects, TS & TSE, are free and there is no indication it will become trialware, payware, donationware, etc.... Free business model is the core philosophy of Qihu360, where internet protection and safety is a right for all.
There is no need for panic.

The reason that Qihoo is going private is to move the stock from where it currently trades (in New York on the NASDAQ) to the market in China (Shenzhen). The stock was grossly undervalued in the US and will move to an Exchange where people actually may know what it does. This move is a purely financial one, and considering that the co-founders own about 62% of the shares is totally understandable- they will probably net a few billion USD by doing this.

Baidu is also considering doing this.
