    @gorhill

to the Chway mentioned site, we are blocking remote fonts globally. However instead of turn-off remote font switch per site.
I tried to add below dynamic URL filtering rules -
    Code:
    geekzone.fr http://cdn.jsdelivr.net/fontawesome/4.5.0/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.ttf font allow
    geekzone.fr http://www.geekzone.fr/wp-content/themes/magaziner/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff font allow
    geekzone.fr http://www.geekzone.fr/wp-content/themes/magaziner/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2?v=4.5.0 font allow
But still i see the below fontawesome requests being blocked. Is this expected?

    Code:
    no-remote-fonts: * true -- font http://www.geekzone.fr/wp-content/themes/magaziner/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.ttf?v=4.5.0
    no-remote-fonts: * true -- font http://www.geekzone.fr/wp-content/themes/magaziner/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff?v=4.5.0
    no-remote-fonts: * true -- font http://www.geekzone.fr/wp-content/themes/magaziner/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2?v=4.5.0
@Chway I thought we could allow specific resources through dynamic url filters at-least. Lets see what Raymond have to say.

Note: I was using latest v1.4.1 beta in FF 42

Seems like font is not a type supported by the dynamic filtering

    https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Dynamic-filtering:-rule-syntax

For now, I will remove no-remote-fonts: * true from my rules, add the Fanboy's Anti-thirdparty Fonts list and add these lines to my My filters :

These are bad filters, see doc re. filter syntax. Try:

    Code:
    @@/font-awesome$font
    @@/fontawesome$font
    @@/flat-icon$font
    @@/flaticon$font
    ||maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com^$font

    Edit: mistake

Which lists are you guys using? and which one's are the best in your opinions?

  6. @Overkill

Depends on your location and visiting habits. So the answers you get on your question may have litttle value for you.

Some testing I did (Netherlands: mostly browsing news, sports and ebusiness stuff)

    1. Easlylist without element hiding
    2. Peter Low's
    3. Easyprivacy
    4. Easylist Dutch

Enabling more does not seem to have any impact (but again, different browsing habits and location will result to different results)

Will enabling all malware lists and/or privacy lists help or hurt browsing? I wonder which one blocks more between all 3 privacy lists in ublocko vs ghostery?

Privacy will defintely will be helped. If it hurts or not is depends on what kind of functionality on a website is hampered with it..

Also, trying to configure uBlock in Medium blocking mode would definitely help in privacy and malware hacks to the websites. See references here
    - Medium blocking mode allows you to connect lesser 3rd party domains. But beware, there might be instances where the site fails to function. It is up-to you to noop the necessary scripts/frames for bringing back the functionality of an website.
    - One common attack happening to the website, is through malvertising, where on user clicking on it, they will be redirected through either through 3rd party iframe or script tags. (i think so..)
    - If you are not ready to deal with the breakage, alteast blocking 3rd party Iframes should help, in thwarting at-least few website hacks!!

Let me know if you are interested for few common noop rules, to allow website functionality. Which is required for Medium blocking mode.

    Can you share it?

I already used the Medium mode, but disable it after a while...

When you say 3rd Party stuff, do you literally mean 3rd party cell or 3rd Party IFrame/Script cells?

Ok, I see you are from USA. So, my noop rules should give little breathing room, unless you are using some location specific websites. Then you have to noop them yourself, or post the site not working, we will give the rules for you :)
Sure. I am not at my personal PC. So, posting here a few. Will update this post by tomorrow, if more left or any corrections to be made.

Is it possible to have * * 3p block but allow/noop images from a particular 3rd party domain? The only thing that seems to work is to allow/noop everything from that 3rd party domain.

but i can tell you that would you drive crazy. better way is to block specific sites in general instead creating tons of rules for exceptions.

Tried that already. µBlock Origin discards it when I click save.

Use uMatrix instead. It allows for a much more granular control.

All the Blocking modes are posted here, courtesy of gorhill :) You might want to check out the "enhanced easy mode" option, which puts you somewhere between Easy mode and Medium mode. Highly recommended if you want above average blocking with minimal hassle :thumb:
