    Ohh. The power button must be defined to sleep the computer instead. see ' Power Options '.

    That must be the default settings after TH2 because I don't think that was how it was set before the upgrade and I've never changed the setting. I just checked my other machine and it was set to Sleep too.

    I think this is default behavior starting with Windows 8.

    I had a problem with a friends machine that wouldn't do any 'restarts' after TH2 it would only do 'shutdown', it would just freeze on 'restart', and it had to have a hard reset.

    I ran only the Component store fix in Tweaking's Windows Repair using the safe mode option and that fixed it. By the way you need a network connection when doing this as any missing files get downloaded from Microsoft.

    Thanks for the info, stapp.

    I have a TH2 ISO and I'm not afraid to use it! :D

    I have noticed that "Send to" option (triggered by the mouse right click) is empty. I'm pretty sure that it worked before upgrade to 1511. I googled and learnt that perhaps it is caused by "SendToBluetooth" which disables all other options in the "Send to" folder. So I removed this option from the folder and "Send to" option started to work. Anyone else having this issue?

    I upgraded from WIN7 to WIN10 and discovered that when I install an APP from the MS Store, it installs and says to click Open. When I click Open the APP flashes for a second but disappears. I have it listed in the menu but upon clicking it there is a momentary flash of the App but it disappears. I tried clearing the cache and my Time, Date and country are correct too. It was suggested that I click the WIN key +R and type ws reset.exe and OK, but that didn't fix it. Does anyone have a fix? Thanks in advance.

    My Windows 10 Pro test installation stopped working after I applied the cumulative update that came in on November 19/20. I can't say for sure what the number of the update was because my computer (dual-booting with Windows 7) can no longer boot into Windows 10, it stops during bootup with a CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED error (no error code, of course). I have (or had) build 10586.

    I've tried any number of things to try to fix this, to no avail. I can't go into Safe Boot (same error). Reverting to the previous build fails at some unspecified point in the process without explanation. "Reset this PC" likewise fails. I tried System Restore, only to discover that Microsoft in its infinite wisdom had turned it back OFF during the upgrade to 10586. :eek:

    About the only thing that works is to go into the DOS box in Windows PE, then I can root around the directories and even open regedit and notepad. The only clue I've come up with is that the process is failing due to a problem with dxgkrnl.sys, but I don't know how one would go about replacing that file from outside the affected OS.

    Sorry, I don't have an image of the drive to apply: this was merely a test system to play around with. :(

    The computer is a Lenovo laptop with integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000, so it's not the NVIDIA issue that my Web searches have turned up.

    Any ideas as to how to replace that dxgkrnl.sys file, given that I can't boot into the OS?

    Thank you.

    I had the issue a while ago, and downloaded a default Send To Bluetooth shortcut to replace it.

    JEAM,

    The Windows "Repair my Computer" performs poorly with dual boots. Once it fails the chances of Windows booting again are about zero. Cut your loses and reinstall Win10 from scratch.

    @JEAM's dxgkrnl.sys may be related to the bug I've found in my laptop where any game trying to activate the onboard AMD R7 m290 will go choppy UNLESS it's a Direct X 11 game. Any way to revert it to the pre TH2 version? I really would rather not have to reinstall the system or downgrade to Windows 8...

    The only thing I have noticed after the 1511 upgrade is that my boot and shut down times are considerably longer.

    I still have the above problem. Anyone have an idea to solve it? I'm still waiting for the 1511 upgrade which should come in a few weeks. Does anyone think the upgrade could cure my problem?

    @pegas,
    I've seen a similar issue in Windows 7, with not all but a couple of the Send to options missing.
    For Windows 7, one can resolve the issue by copying the missing Send to options from the Default folder
    C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo
    to
    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo
    (in which you replace <user> for the concerning user account, of course)
    I don't know if this repair option is available in Windows 10, but for Windows 7 it works fine.

    Thanks for the advice. It also works in Win 10 but I have resolved it differently.

    In my SendTo folder there were two options related to BT. "Send To BT" and "BT Device". I have checked which files these options link to. The first one linked to nothing (it was probably a generic shortcut) and the second one to C:\Windows\System32\fsquirt.exe. So I deleted "Send To BT" and retained only "BT Device". I tried then a file transmission via BT and it worked fine. Also "Send to" is working now correctly with all options inside.

    Unfortunately, I don't. My memory of that is quite hazy, so it might not have been a download in the first place.

    1511 should fix the problems you are having. This update re-installs all default apps (even if you have uninstalled some) plus some extra ones.

    In the mean time, you can try force windows to reinstall the default apps by running the following as an Admin in Powershell.

    Code:
    Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
    regards.

    Latest build update and my tablet will not revert back from sleep. I need to do a power reset every time. Not sure how can I fix it. Very irritating.

    Latest update failed a day or two ago when I tried it, but reinstalled 1511 again yesterday, and now all is well. Go figure, eh? ;)
