Also even with Win 8 or Win 10 WSA's Firewall will notify you if something bad is trying to call out.

This may or mayor may not be a good Security Solution, but at almost $300 here in Australia for a 3yr subscription, I'm not about to find out.. My renewal for Avira Pro is 75% less for the same length of time

    Hi, @Triple Helix .:)

I have some problems on WSA.

    1. It seems that the highest level of the heuristic has a bug. Specifically, after I set the heuristic to the highest level and double click a batch script, WSA prompts me whether to block it, allow it once, or allow it permanently. Here I choose to allow it once. But the problem is that, when I double click that script again, WSA no longer prompts it. It seems that, for scripts, "allow once" is equivalent to "always allow". This bug does not happen when I double click an EXE file. So I hope you to check the code for the option "allow once" for scripts.

    2. The file paths shown in the Block/Allow Files panel (abbr. BAF panel) is confusing, when I try to add a file to the list manually. Here I test WSA in virtual machine hosted in VMware Player. When I copy a test file "EXE.exe" to the document folder in the virtual machine and add "EXE.exe" to the BAF panel, the path shown here is not the document folder, but a temp folder under:
    Code:
    c:\users\????\appdata\local\temp\vmware-????\vmwarednd\
I think this is a temp folder used by vmware player to copy files into and out of the virtual machine. I have tried to delete that temp file, and add "EXE.exe" to the BAF panel again. But the path shown there is still the temp folder...

    3. Could we roll back the operations of an application manually with WSA?

I was so surprised I decided to check that out.

Logged in my country as Australia, and found that WSA AV for 1 year is 50 Australian bucks (equivalent to 36 USD) and that the 100 bucks is for 5 devices with Password Manager, 25 GB of Backup & Sync ands smartphone and tablet protection also thrown in ("Complete" version). So 20 bucks per device. And at the moment reduced to 75 bucks (so in fact 15 bucks per device, equivalent to 11 USD).

I don't know what Avira prices are, and have less than no idea of market prices generally, but from my layman's perspective that doesn't seem that extortionate.

My 2 (Australian :D) cents worth...

There will be some good deals in the next week and throughout December into the new year, search the Web but stay away from ebay as most sellers are not authorized and can stop working at anytime.

It would be best to Contact Webroot Customer Service and they can look into it for you.

    Thanks,

Regarding my previous reply to your post, 3 years' coverage for WSA AV for 1 device on the Australian website goes down to 27.50 USD (38.33 AUD) per annum.

TH who do i get in touch with about a problem with the android app? on my wife's phone (only one we have thats affected) when she installs webroot after a few days the lock screen no longer functions. 100% caused by something to do with webroot. without it installed the lock screen has zero issues. once she reinstalls webroot the lock screen doesnt work again. when she wakes the phone it opens right up and does not ask her for her pattern to unlock it.

Contacted Webroot Customer Support with all the details, they want a remote session: 'We would like to get a remote session going on a device experiencing this issue to further troubleshoot and gather some data in case we need to escalate this to development.'
But I am reluctant to pursue this as it is not easy to demonstrate the issue i.e. the encryption indicator works with HMPA 3.0 (which I have installed), but not 3.1.
The reason according to the HMP dev being 'That is because we had to change the way the colored window border works to support metro apps (e.g. Microsoft Edge). The new way is blocked by Webroot Identity Shield.' I can only demo this by uninstalling 3.0, then installing 3.1.
Webroot would have to change something at the code level. Development could just test this, assuming they are interested in compatibility.

http://www.webroot.com/au/en/home/products/isp here: 3 yrs has been reduced but still $179 for 3yrs Avira Security Suite is $120 for 3yrs 1 device $180 3yrs 3 devices... still considerably less... Webroot has been reduced 3 times to match that , Webroot was originally $299.. basically price hiking isn't good business

Like I said look on the Web but stay away from eBay as most of them are not authorized and see the ones like Newegg.com and yes I can't get those deals as I live in Canada: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/newegg-com-av-specials.361072/page-32#post-2543901

Why do you quote in one post prices for WSA Complete (for 5 devices) and in the next for WSA Internet Security Plus (for 3 devices)? It's like comparing apples and oranges. They're two completely different offerings.

Frankly, I don't think the extra bits that come with those packages are worth it anyway. It's a typical case of a company wanting to be all things to all people and as a result watering down the quality of their product. Those extra bits frankly are (imho) mediocre and in some cases downright buggy.

The thing that is their forte, malware protection, on that count Webroot is (imho) peerless. You will find nothing better.

As I've already said in above post, you will get 3 years' protection NOT for 300 AUD (that is WSA C - 5 devices), NOT for 179 AUD (that is WSA ISP - 3 devices) but for 115 AUD (WSA AV - 1 device) which is 83 USD. And as Triple says, you can find better offers on the web if you're prepared to look.

I really don't get it how you keep on insisting Webroot is expensive.

    Or maybe i'm just thick... ?? ??

Good Morning! Just renewed my License/Keycode with Webroot...took advantage of their Black Friday Sale. This is a Hat's Off to Triple Helix and Webroot's Support Department...a mere hour and some odd minutes elapsed and I was delighted to find my remaining time was added from my old License/Keycode. Having been in Sales for many years...it's all the small things that build a meaningful customer...company relationship. Webroot in my opinion really is World Class in providing their Customer with a Customer First Focus Experience. And as a footnote...we can all be fortunate that we have Triple Helix as a Spokesman here at Wilders as a Integral Part of that Customer Experience with Webroot. Well done Ladies and Gentleman! A customer for Life! Sincerely...Securon
