If only they'd fix the stupid broken quarantine... First it wasn't even restoring files and now it's restoring them into a single folder named Lost and Found. Like w00t!? And they don't seem to be bothered by it. The first fix only took like a month. I guess we have to wait another month to see if they'll fix this one... AVG is a surprise indeed. But their jumping on the "launcher" bandwagon makes me not want to use it. That Zen thing is useless and annoying.
Rejzor, I am playing with Panda Free on VM and it restores quarantined files back to Downloads folder properly.
Last time I tried the free version, a few weeks ago, it wasn't mandatory to install that zen thing. I downloaded the full installer from filehippo.
I've tried it few days ago and I didn't even have any option. Also used a full installer. Well, it didn't for me on a live system with Windows 10 64bit.
So, the test says, Detection of widespread and prevalent malware discovered in the last 4 weeks 20754 samples used. So Avast scores 99.3 missed 145 samples BullGuard 99.7 missed 62 samples Eset 99.8 missed 41 samples and Windows Defender 99.1 missed 186 samples out of 20754 To me that is about as equal as I need it to be to say WD works. And works well
Only thing with Panda is both AVC and AVT tests show that it has become heavier than average. Not great for a "cloud" av.
I have Panda free installed on a Windows 7 64 bit machine, and it quarantined a file I needed to print coupons because it was unknown, and I knew it was safe. I went through the Panda process of getting it out of quarantine, and printed my coupons no problem, and not one more peep from Panda after that.
