I use another backup with Macrium Reflect as a spare. Today my first backup when I attempted restore put me into repair which lasted for hours. I went to Reflect and it restored my Windows 7 in 6 minutes. Best FREE program I ever used. Thanks again.
This numbers are misleading. Possibly after the first restore there was a boot problem and the repair tried to correct it. If the repair doesn´t end in 2-3 minutes or reports that it can´t solve the problem and shuts down the system, it can remain "active" indefinitely. It doesnt´mean it is doing anything and it doesnt´have anything to do with the image program. On the other hand, the restore time of the second program is fairly typical, nothing special. Sometimes these boot problems mean more noise than substance and can be solved easily. I recently had a similar problem. After I created an image in an external hard disk (using Image for Windows) from a boot UFD and rebooted, the boot blocked in the POST (OEM logo). After I shut down the computer and turned it on again, it entered repair mode. After some minutes, repair mode reported that it couldn´t repair the problem and shut down the computer. I disconnected the external hard disk and the boot UFD and booted again. The system booted normally.
