Zemana Anti-Malware's realtime Protection actually works!

I'm using the portable version. It actually quarantined some of my keygens :)

@ida15 @Emre TINAZTEPE How effective is realtime without Pandora? So far, all my detections are from Pandora. And it does a really great job. But the downside is it blocks some legit alpha/beta softwares (due to low reputations) while executing. Is it possible to add an option to temporarily/permanently allow a file when Pandora is blocking a file? Also I noticed Pandora blocks are not logged, it should be done so.

    @ Emri

Please refer to my post #1325 on the previous page.

In accordance with Ida's #1326 post, I sent my inquiry exactly as posted there to support and got this:
This is a part of our cloud connection status check to ensure that ZAM is correctly connected to Internet during the scan operation.

•That doesn't cover my inquiry about the effect on my local DNS configuration/lookups. I think no effect, but I'd like that confirmed.

I understand that the reply meets basic a service level and support is probably very busy, but considering I submitted connection and packet data, the reply doesn't rise to the level of that demonstrated technical expertise. So that's why I posted here. (That said, Zemana support has been very helpful over the years I've been using AntiLogger. Especially Armagan.) Anyhow...

    OK. Cloud.

Why so many port 53 hits to OpenDNS every one or two seconds? All this while the system is idle?

Why not just ping your own server(s) to ensure that ZAM is correctly connected?

    Thank you!

Typical, always present Time Wait state capture from Nirsoft CurrPorts for ZAM.exe:

Tested Zemana against the new Cryptowall version 4, which is being delivered via email as a ZIP-archived Java Script file, and it blocked it.

It will be interesting to see if Zemana performs any differently when Cryptowall 4 starts being delivered as an exploit kit payload.

I'm using it. But I don't know if it's working because I haven't seen it yet working. :D
It doesn't detect anything yet, at least in my laptop's system.

How does ZAM lifetime license handle new hardware or a move to a new PC?

    Cheers

Every time i update the macrium reflect from built in program, the update is considered as malware and quarantined from zemana.
    plz fix this false positive.

Can anyone save me from skimming 54 pages, and tell me when this gained real-time protection, or did it always have it?

Thanks. I am using the beta, and noticed everytime I open the program it says something about updating real-time protection.

It says: "Starting Realtime Protection" -> "Loading Signatures" -> "Realtime Protection is ON"
    --------------
Today we have released the first BETA version of ZAM with on-execute real time protection feature. It also includes a good amount of improvements & bug fixes. We have also activated Pandora Analysis System for ZAM so files with low reputation are instantly analysed in our scan cloud and in case a malicious file is found, ZAM starts an automatic scan.

BTW, we will release a FREE version of ZAM soon. Please stay tuned!

Any idea if ZAM blocks the rogue Dell root CA?

    Hello @subhrobhandari,
Sorry to say this but the current version does not detect it because, eDellRoot was in our internal white list since we didn't know that they have published their private key to the public. In the next version we will remove them from our internal white list so you can scan and remove it from your system. On the other hand, the good news is that we have created cloud signatures, so all the binaries signed by this rogue certificate will be flagged by ZAM like in the following picture:

    Best regards,

    Ida

    Hello @clocks,
Here is me saving you from going through all the 54 pages :)

ZAM started out as an on demand scanner, earlier this year, but you know we always wanted to add real time protection feature to it, so it can protect our users and clean their PCs too.

Then we have decided to protect our users before the infection itself takes place. So that is why we have decided to incorporate the real time. Also we will make soon Zemana AntiMalware as a free product so everyone can use it for on-demand scanning and then there will also be the paid version with the real time protection feature.

Hope I explained it to you :)
