I had to allow popups for SA's site to get to the portal/forums (manually letting the popup through still didn't work).
My computer became completely unresponsive after installing the latest beta. I came back after leaving the system idle for about 20 minutes. The mouse cursor would not move, and ALT-CTRL-DLT did not respond either. I had to do a hard shutdown. I suspect an incompatibility with AppGaurd. Shortly before the system became unresponsive AG blocked some unknown processes from writing to the registry. I found the entry below in Window's Event Viewer. I don't know if this was caused by the hard shutdown, or maybe AppGuard prevented the application from writing to the registry. I guess I could force a memory dump if the system locks up again using the hotkeys if needed. I'm using Windows 7X64 Ultimate. Thank you for helping to test again. We are happy to know that you manage to get it works now. In the Beta program we will revamp the UI in several stages. The idea is that we could get an early feedback. For example like what happened in the first launch when we notice the new UI has some issues. It is better that we could know this earlier, so that we can fix it and use the same fix as the basic framework for next new UI.
Probably your ccleaner has been in your hard disk during the initial whitelisting process, that was taken place as the same time as the initial full system scan. When you first install, everything in the hard disks will be trusted as the baseline.
The UI becomes unresponsive each time I click on App Settings, and will not recover until I close App Settings. As soon as I close App Settings the UI recovers, and becomes responsive again. I'm using Windows 7X64 Ultimate.
This is currently recognized behavior and is inherent to the approach of mixing of old and new UI elements. The final version by the time the Beta ends should not have this problem as by then all the new UI windows have been implemented. For a list of known issues, you can check out this post on the SecureAPlus forums: Beta News & Updates The above post also contains all the latest info with regards to the current running beta version.
It says "unable to access Universal AV server. Please check your internet connection". My wireless internet is working fine. I found lots of entries in Windows Event Viewer about this earlier today. I'm using Windows 7X64 Ultimate. I'm also using Eset Smart Security 8, AppGuard, and MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit.
Ok, thank you! I will try to get up to date on the known issues. I have not tested in a long time so it might require a lot of reading on my part depending on how much has been reported.
Not sure whether was the server problem (using Windows 10, AppGuard, and MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit here) I was having the same issue for 1 or 2 hours (after upgrading to v4.1.1), it can connect to the server now.
You're Welcome... I notice that in the latest newsletter that I received, that I got a mention for bringing to the attention of the developers, about XP being overlooked in the first beta.
We try to give credit where it is due as much as we can. I hope you're fine with the mention and that you continue testing the SecureAPlus Beta.
Has anyone else experienced a performance hit on their computer with the latest beta? SecureAPlus 4.1.1 runs fine by itself on my test machine, but if I try to use it with Eset Smart Security, and AppGuard it really makes my computer slow to respond. There's a very noticeable delay when opening applications, and my surf speed has really slowed down. I looked to see if the Universal AV had been uploading any files for analysis during that time, and said it had not. I did not have the offline AV enabled so Clam AV was not running in memory. I disabled it, and rebooted before experiencing the performance hit. I went ahead, and rolled back the machine experiencing the performance hit because I do most of my work on that machine. I still have SecureAPlus installed on my test machine, and will continue to give feedback. I hope the release that fixes the UI bugs is released soon. I do realize the UI is not complete yet. I'm using Windows 7X64 Ultimate. I'm using an Core i7 3.2 ghz with 8 GB's of DDR3 memory.
We are pleased to announce the release of SecureAPlus v3.4.4. We fixed the truncated text, as reported earlier by Online_Sword (https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/secureaplus-freemium.350914/page-58#post-2528230). In this version, network drive is excluded in the initial full system scan, as suggested by Overkill (https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/secureaplus-freemium.350914/page-59#post-2534854).
