    Hi
Installed the latest beta with realtime and all seems fine except that Windows action center says that i have no virusprotection. It is on according to taskmanager though.
    Anyone else seeing this ?

    Everyone is seeing this behavior,
because ZAM is not an anti-virus, nor does it replace an AV.
ZAM is an addition to AV and ads an extra layer of security (if real-time will finally work)
and provides a strong on demand cloud-scanner.
Consequently it does not register in action center.

Do you have any AV solution installed?

Ok, so it is not an AV but what then is the realtime protection doing?
Or put this way, what is the difference?

Ida, it looks ZAM needs to be restarted after upgrade in order to work properly....at least in my case.
    Can you check and confirm?

Can you define what "malware" is for you?

Let me explain it for you:

Malware removers provides tools that are used to specifically take malware out of an infected computer, should a virus somehow pass through an antivirus software check. Some AV solutions can not detect all the viruses, they don't pass the check and that is there malware scanners kick in. Malware includes active viruses, contained viruses and inactive malware that may be hidden and lurking on the infected computer.
Some antivirus software may have rudimentary tools to remove active viruses, but modern malware is sophisticated in hiding on the infected computers. Malware remover provides tools that are used to specifically take malware out of an infected computer. Our ZAM scans on execution now with the Real Time protection feature added.
So, AVs are sometimes not enough, that is why you should have malware scanners as well and our ZAM adds extra layers of protection, keeping the bad guys away and your PC malware free.

I see your point and I have explained above to some extent where I was going with my response for pb1:)
Any type of malicious software is malware, trojans, worms, ransomware, viruses and so on... I hope you get my point now :)

Malware refers to all malicious code whereas virus refers to a piece of malicious code which can replicate itself and infect other files present. Birth of modern AV software coincide where the age where viruses were the predominant form of malware, thus it made sense to call them antiviruses. Since these companies used antivirus name all those years, they tend to stick with it because public is aware of the name "virus", "malware" doesn't ring a bell to many people.
So needing an av software while having an am is wrong by definition. However ZAM can be called as a second opinion anti malware to clarify the need for use with another protection software.

    @ Emre,
Before, when ZAM portable started, if a new version was available I was informed about it and I had the choice to install it or not.

Now, when ZAM portable starts, at once downloads/installs the newer version!!!
    It's not a bug, it's a "feature" ?

I have a lifetime licence, so i tried it with eset.
Very light and no false positives in my pc.
It is a good approach that realtime scans only executable files, because it is a companion antimalware.
And please keep the realtime protection simple because it is a companion antimalware and dont full suite.
So no need for http scanning and other bloat.

Any plans to add "ask" to the real-time feature?

Very weird thing I went to download a game at gamehouse.com and the realtime went off. I could reproduce it a couple times by downloading another game a few times, but then it went away and let me download the game I wanted to, very strange. So it's on but don't scan com files, but very stange. The games at gamehouse contain trymedia and no software program with realtime ever detected them that I use on my computer.

    @ Emri or Ida

I've been running licensed AntiLogger on two Windows 7 x64 systems since early 2010.

I haven't run AntiMalware since March on one of them, but I have been following this thread. I'm thinking about running 2.18.2.19.

I see with 2.17.1.839 you added the IntelliGuard+ signature database. Is this the same as the regularly updated zdb files in the user app data local ZALSDK folder?

Considering ZAL's real time System-Defense and IntelliGuard Cloud with regards to ZAM's real time protection introduced in 2.17.1.985, how will these two coexist?

Are you still partnered with Virus Total?

I've re-vitalized the "Zemana AntiLogger PRO Thread" with an inquiry about ZAL's developement. Please reply.

    Thank you.
