Just rebooted and tried again. No joy. I still have to disable Keystroke Encryption to enter Norton Vault password.

    lawdude,
Can you tell us whether you are clicking the VAULT IS CLOSED button on the toolbar, or are you typing your password into the drop-down when the vault prompts you to open it?

Also, does it happen in all browsers?

I have replied to a PM and sent an e-mail to which you have not responded...That is Ok, if you think my input and testing is not required. At the moment, I have it installed, but not active due to you having amended settings in the registry during our remote session a few weeks ago.

Thanks. What version of Norton are you using? I have Norton Security 22.5.4 and as I said earlier I not having this issue.

Unless Erik or Mark has a better idea, have you considered uninstalling / reinstalling HMP.A?

    HitmanPro.Alert Version 3.1.0 build 323

Issues started with new Spotify release, guessing it's false-positive?

    Spotify version: 1.0.16.104.g3b776c9e
    Windows 10 Pro 64bit

(I am using a junction point from C:\Users\Sanya\AppData\Local\Spotify\Data to D:\Spotify Data , not sure if relevant)

Heads up that Banking protection module in Eset Smart Security will not launch if HMPA installed. This was reported first in beta-testing of ESS; https://forum.eset.com/topic/6298-ess-v9-banking-protection-and-hitmanproalert/

Not unique to HMPA as apparently any software which has keystroke encryption has the same effect on the banking module of ESS.

Given the choice I will stay with HMPA and do without the BP in ESS.

Seems like Spotify is probing for a sandbox. Expect an update.

BTW, I do not yet have that Spotify version (stuck at 1.0.15). Any idea on how I can force get it? (Download also 1.0.15).

Got my e-mail? Sorry, I know I'm annoying but I have totally no idea if you look at your inbox regularly, I simply want to be sure that the message gets read.
Download the translation again from the same URL (updated it today) and if possible update it in one of the next versions but it's not urgent as there are only minor typo corrections and some text length issues fixed on the app mitigation screen.

Using build 3.1.0.323 and have the live Keystroke Encryption showing as I type. I have just noticed that when typing that if I hold the shift key down on the keyboard to type a capital letter the encrypted digits roll over at a very high rate! All I need to do is open a browser home page (about:blank) and hold the shift key down to see this happen. Also, if I type something in the browser and take note of the last encrypted digits to be shown, when I type again in a different page the encryption starts again where I left off on the previous page. It also does this if I type something in my Firefox browser - close it and open Chrome. It is almost as though the encrypted digits are stored on Notepad and just continues from where I left off each time.
Is this by design or a bug. Anyone else seeing this.

Thanks for checking. It may well have been doing this previously and I just hadn't noticed it. I am using W7 -x64 as well.
Will wait and see what Eric has to say.

I was going to report the following, but then I saw this and decided to report it as a reply to this post because the two issues could be related:

ESET Online Scanner reports hmpnet.sys as a "potentially unsafe application" in two locations. Here's a screenshot of the first one:

    HMPA PUA.jpg
The full line for that item is:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\HitmanPro.Alert\Update Files\hmpnet.sys a variant of Win64/NetFilter.A potentially unsafe application

ESET's log file also reports hmpnet.sys as a "potentially unsafe application" here:

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\hmpnet.sys a variant of Win64/NetFilter.A potentially unsafe application

I'm glad I set the Online Scanner NOT to remove anything.

System: Vista Home Premium x64, SP2

It is known for weeks now but ESET hasn't decided to do anything about it yet.

Holding the SHIFT-key down it should show a continues flow, just as you would hold down a letter. Is this what you are describing?

Thank you, that is indeed what I see and this explains the encryption behavior too. Weird that I never noticed it before:(
