Do most people on Wilders still use a Script Blocker?

In the past I always used No Script. I'm now using uMatrix with uBlock in both Firefox & Chrome. Is it worth using a script blocker? I use EAM on my main PC's & I'm contemplating getting rid of the script blocker & just using uBlock. One is PC running Win 7 Pro x64, other is running Win 10 Pro x64.

For me, no, because Opera provides whitelisting javascript per site.

To me, it is. I don't use NoScript for security but for cleaning websites of annoying distractions. I enjoy the internet a lot more thanks to NoScript than what I would if I wasn't using it.

In SeaMonkey I use NoScript.
In Opera 12.17 I do not since it has site-specific settings where scripts can be turned on/off.

I can't seem to get an answer anywhere whether Opera-Chrome or Opera-Vivaldi have identical site-specific settings. Because at some point may have to bump out of 12.17.

Yes, but only blacklisting cause I don't have the patience to *actively* un-break sites.

*uBlock Origin with all applicable blacklists, and advanced user mode in case something needs to be unblocked,

 

I use uBlock's option to block 3rd party scripts. I think it is worth using script control - security and privacy wise off course.

 

Script blocking has become absolutely essential for me these days. Both as essential security and for controlling the runaway content that is being delivered with scripting. The amount of script and the number of domains that provide script on some pages is scary. Unlike JL, I whitelist. I have no patience for sites that take forever to deliver a few paragraphs of content because they are so over scripted.

I've been following Vivaldi, but there are too many Opera features I would give up with the current versions, so I'm waiting to see how later versions develop.

uMatrix is the better choice vs scripts - and in special offers very granular selection of scripts with lots of white and more blacklisting (hosts) inside.
uBlock is best vs regular ads - some ads are provided by script, but some not.

advantage u-series - copy your profile to a portable edition and you are still fully protected - you cant do with EAM

 

I still use NoScript on Firefox (Ubuntu & Windows). uMatrix looks interesting, but it's taken me five years just to learn how to use NoScript!

 

For Opera 12, I use Scriptkeeper. I find it much easier to use than Noscript but still very effective. I like the way the whole script hierarchy is easily seen with it and it is easy to select domains for whitelisting and blacklisting. Doing this, you can control content and formatting on an individual page to a great extent. I use Noscript for Mozilla browsers. For Chromium browsers I'm currently using Scriptblocker which is very effective and simple but lacks the ability to grant temporary permissions. uMatrix is indeed interesting and has many more options but at the moment I prefer simplicity.

 

The scope concept of both uMatrix and uBlock Origin is what is lacking in NoScript. In some media site I want see the commented posts that need Facebook allowance. In no way I want facebook allowed globally.

I still use NoScript. I've been meaning to try out uMatrix now that's it's kindly been made available for Pale Moon. Like @Daveski17, it's taken me this long to adapt to NoScript

Sometimes I get tired of the process of whitelisting scripts.

 

Interestingly, I've just been experimenting with uMatrix on a portable version of Chrome. I'll tell if uMatrix works well in about five years.

 

I have NoScript, Disconnect, RequestPolicy, Ublock Origin, and Https-Everywhere. I've tried uMatrix but didn't like it.

 

Tried Noscript, dumped it within a day, a very good program but I have no intentions spending weeks trying to figure out how it works.

Yes, for speed and privacy. And of course to remove annoyances, some sites use a ridiculous amount of first party scripts.

I used to use RequestPolicy with NoScript, but life is too short.

 

I use NS aside uBlock O. Even if you just 'allow scripts globally' in NoScript you'll benefit.
