Just try it together but exclude HMPA processes in SS's encryption settings (Process filter/do not encrypt keystrokes...)

New version released, looks like a hotfix I tested it some time ago and they worked together, however I don't see a point in using HitmanPro.Alert with SpyShelter since SpyShelter simply covers much more than Hitman.
I'm curious as to why you would say this as Soyshelter does not posses many of the fuctions Alert has like exploit mitigation, vaccination, network lock-down and others.
SpyShelter 10.2.2 released on 18/09/2014 -Security improvements on Windows 10 x64 https://www.spyshelter.com/blog/spyshelter-10-2-released/#more-5663 https://www.spyshelter.com/download-spyshelter/ rules.
Thought I'd try the free SpyShelter on my Win 7 system with MBAE and VS. But seemed to bork Firefox - in Technical FAQ's it says this may be rectified by opening up 'Settings > List of Monitored Actions and tick off action code 58' but that option is only available in paid versions. So I guess I would have to test with trial version to see if that works ...
On my end, 58 doesn't bork Firefox, it just does what 58 is supposed to do... nerf control when it comes to Firefox addons taking over user input. If ticked, you will have to manually press Login with the mouse as opposed to the Enter key to log into LastPass... also NoScript is affected too from what I can tell, if 58 is ticked. I got sick of it, so unticked it. But I am on FF 27.0.1, so things might be different on newer FF.
Yes exactly, SS doesn't offer anti-exploit. I'm also not sure if SS is able to alert about already active banking trojans, like HMPA does.
My privat answer could be this paraphrase "I'm also not sure if HMPA is able to alert about already active loggers, like SS does." And next the question - why SS should offer anti-exploit protection? It's obligatory or something? If i want eat sausage - I buy sausage, if I want to eat icecream - I buy icecream...I wouldn't buy mixture both of them to eat something that is more "universal"
@ichito The problem is sausage cream a.k.a HMA doesn't get a long well enough by default with the icecream which is SS . Joke asside, hopefully the HMA vendor will do something about it, for other reason they have taken the way to make HMA compatible with various of antivirus product while for SS is on progress?. I think for 2015, it's normal for a security product for having white-listing feature.
I never said it should, it was simply an answer to a certain question. It does make sense to combine SS with anti-exploit, because they both bring something else to the table. Like I said, HMPA and MBAE blocks exploits in an earlier stage, and HMPA alerts about an infected browser. SS can probably also block exploits with the sandbox, but it will only block the payload (not memory corruption). And it's kinda strange that SS is never included in the MRG online banking security tests, so that's why I'm not certain if it can block the most advanced banking trojans.
SpyShelter 10.3 update September 25, 2015 in News New version brings a couple of bug fixes, usability improvements as well as enhanced Network Activity tracking in SpyShelter Firewall. SpyShelter 10.3 (25/Sep/2015) – Firewall network activity monitor now includes UDP traffic – Fixed bug with multiple instances on different accounts – Fixed issue with account switching on Windows 10 – Decreased number of false alerts on Windows 10 – Added support for Windows 10 Insider Build 10547
BTW, do you guys also have a problem with slow/sluggish scrolling inside SS's GUI? If I close the GUI and restart it, the problem disappears, but it may appear at any given time.
Just tested scrolling, and it was very quick and highly responsive; quicker with the mouse wheel, but still decent speed with up/down arrows. I will check from time to time to see if your issue pops up.
Thanks, I've always had this problem, I have no idea what's triggering this. But it's annoying enough to make me want to dump SS.
I was wondering coz it looks like the more they improved the versions the more they trimmed down the features in their free version. Correct me if I'm wrong. But it looks like they are adding more "limited" power to the free versions? I was now then thinking that their older version are more better and could offers more protection if one just wants to use the free version, isn't it?
Note: Windows 8 64bit is not fully supported. Does this mean Windows 10 is not fully supported also as far as the sandbox goes?
Afraid not bud, I am still on the mouse drivers that Windows installs when I first connect the mouse. I tried using the official install file from MS (you know the one where you can pick your mouse model from an extensive list...), but that gives me BSOD; so went back to stock driver. Are you operating a wired or wireless mouse? I highly doubt it'll be the cause, but curious regardless...
