Not a complete rewrite but some (many?) lines in the source code. Keeping Sandboxie compatible with M$ and applications became a real nightmare lately, well since version 4 when Sandboxie changed hooking methods to comply M$ rules.

    Issues:
    (1) Win 10, forcing excel 2010 double-click a .XLS file and there is an error (this used to work with win 8.1 and Sandboxie 4.2).
    (2) Double click "Sandboxed Web Browser" doesn't work properly with latest firefox and win 10. Title bar is incorrectly formatted (white instead of grey) and options>search tab is corrupt. I can make this work by running the program the shortcut uses (start.exe) in win 8 compatibility mode, then all is OK.

You do it via Forced folders. In Sandbox settings for your USB sandbox, Click Program start>Forced folders, Click Add folder, navigate to the USB drives that you want to force, add them to the list of forced folders. If your USB drives F or G don't show up when you navigate to them, then you plug in a flash drive, after doing that, they will show and you can now force the folder.:)

Under Sandbox settings > Program Start > Forced Folder > Click Add Folder
Here you select the desired drive.

Looks like RC1 became the release version after all, at least according to checksums.

5.03.1 gave print spooler full access to temp folders. This opened a security hole for exploits which can use print spooler to save files on your unsandboxed path. Nobody seems to give a damn about it.

If you use anti-exe, the problem is solved, correct?

I believe you have to double click that message to increase the sandbox size limit.

Rasheed, you could also tick "Don't issue a message when a file is too large to migrate" (Sandbox Settings>File Migration). You should still be able to view images sandboxed after doing that and you wont get messages. Sandboxed images will be Read only, sandboxed programs wont modify them in the sandbox.

Outlook 2007 App Crash when forced. Any way around this? I've tried not forced and added a shortcut on the desktop, but still the same.

Infected, are you getting any SBIE messages? Were you able to run Outlook sandboxed before, and just recently started having this issue?

You can try: Run Outlook in a new, default settings sandbox. If Outlook runs fine in the new sandbox, then it probably means the Outlook sandbox you are using now is corrupted (it could be a bad setting).

Sometimes some programs work better without Drop rights. If you are using the setting now in the sandbox where you have been forcing Outlook, untick it to see if it makes a difference.

I'll give this a try and let you know. I haven't been able to run Outlook sandboxed, I was using MBAE before to protect it. I'll report back.

Since you never ran Outlook sandboxed before, you should know that you need to tick Outlook in Sandbox settings>Applications>Email reader. Otherwise, Outlook will not run as a Forced program. Without ticking that setting, Outlook can be run sandboxed by right clicking its icon (but you lose mails, send and received mails wont be saved out of the sandbox). Make sure to tick the setting.

I never got Outlook to run completely correctly either. You do need to give it complete access to the pst file. But what never worked was the email indexing. It ended up just easier to protect it with HMPA and Appguard.

So, what does this all mean: Sandboxie is getting weaker and getting more security/protection holes with every new version because, only because Sandboxie needs to be compatible with all other programs, softwares and functions?
