Hello, As requested I created this thread so you can give feedback and questions about xvirus personal firewall. - download http://mysecuritywin.com/images/screenshots/xpf.jpg Best Regards!
Thanks. Got it installed. Nice GUI, it "feels" lite. Only using 30mb. Lifetime license is cheap also, only 15.00. Might be something that I might use.
One thing that I found is, when you try to remove a process from the allowed list, it won't let you. I highlight it, then remove selected file, nothing happens. I'm using XP SP3 in a VM.
Thanks for creating this thread. Haven't installed it yet. 1. Saw that the pro version, "Protects you from viruses/malware". How? 2. What does the Cloud Protection does? 3. Does it prompt on outbound connection attempt? 4. Is this an independent Firewall (Like Comodo, ZoneAlerm, Outpost) or a Windows Firewall controller?
It's like a Firewall Control, well seems that way. Yes it does prompt on out bound attempt. Like Firefox and IE. I'm not sure what the other parts do yet, as I haven't purchased the Pro Version.
What? I was just saying what happened. I don't expect anything. And why not, there is a lot of people running XP still. I just use it in a VM.
Because its archaic and dead. A programmer shouldnt need to program in order to work around your limitations because your too cheap to upgrade to something more modern. Its almost completely irrelevant that it doesnt work in XP.
Who's being cheap? I have every OS out there. And like I said before, I don't expect anything, so calm down....
XP is still a popular OS even though Microsoft abandons it. In India several office PCs use XP because the software they use do not work on newer OS. If software developers, especially new ones, drop XP support then the chance that their software will be used becomes even less. Nevertheless, the software we are talking about in this thread claims to support XP, so what's the fuss about. http://mysecuritywin.com/xvirus-personal-firewall.html
@Dani Santos You should digitally sign your installer. That's an important thing for security companies.
1. It has a module called "memory watcher" that monitors every process and shows an alert if the process seems suspicious using predetermined rules. 2. Scans files in real time using a cloud database. 3. Yes. 4. It's an independent Firewall.
Thank you. 1. Which kind of files are scanned in cloud, those which attempts outbound connection? 2. Does Windows Action Centre recognizes this firewall. I understand.
Xvirus Personal Firewall 4.1 - Removed uac alerts on startup; - Fixed bug where xvirus asked for reboot even after removing the threat successfully; - Improved process termination; - Fixed bsod when deleting files; - Fixed rules list "remove selected file" button.
