I got my hand on the revo pro and seems is much better then the rest and 64bit cleaning too.

I only use Reg Organizer because it has Soft Organizer integrated into it and is available in a portable version. I do not use the registry cleaning or any other tools it has. and Soft Organizer after testing in a [windows 7 pro 64bit VM], is one of the most effective uninstallers I've tested.

A slight refinement: it monitors every change to the system, not just the installer. This is why it works so well and why it is the only way to track every change made by an installation as not all changes are made by it's setup executable.

yeah and too aggressive i guess. I think it screwed my windows firewall beyond repair during a traced uninstall. So had to revert to a good image. So installed iobit uninstaller instead.

@taleblou The problem it is is that it monitors any files changes to your system when installing software, not just the changes made by the software you are installing. Which is fine if you are going to manually verify what is going to deleted and deselect anything you think shouldn't be deleted, there is the portential for it to cause problems.

Having said that, it makes sense to double check what will be delete when using IObit Uninstaller as well. Are you using the stable release or the new beta? The beta is excellent, and can continue working after a reboot unlike Revo.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire: "scanning" uninstallers give an educated guess and frequently guess incorrectly (sometimes wildly incorrectly) and the problem is worse if you cannot review changes before uninstall.

With SoftOrganizer, you can review the changes at any time and prune them, you can make exclusions (like browser caches, anti-virus logs/whitelists, etc.) so they aren't tracked. Additionally, any entries that don't need to be there are only because something occurred, not because of a bad guess.

There are still a few minor bugs with quick uninstalling in IObut Uninstaller 5, but other than that it is a very good program. Hopefully I can get IObit to remove the bugs soon.

What the article at ghacks missed is that you need click on Win Manager to remove Windows apps. Form there you can uninstall any modern app, and IObit Uninstaller will find the leftover registry entries too. I've used it remove a couple of apps that I will never use.

@pegas This is a direct download link hxxp://update.iobit.com/dl/iobituninstaller.exe
You need to install version 168 before installing version 169. If you launch the installer, with version 168 installed, version 168 will launch.

There is no changelog for the new version, so I presume it's a very minor update.

@roger_m Thanks! Got it. I had .168 installed. When I run the provided installer it only opened IObit Uninstaller and not updated to .169. So I had to uninstall .168 first and then install .169.

A small correction of the review ...
It is not like the Task manager because it shows only processes which launch with the Startup of your PC.

I noticed in this thread that b4 there were problems installing the v 4.3 of IObit b4 uninstalling the previous version. Does this still apply to this new v5.0 or can I just overinstall it on my actual v4.3 ?

@GuyD There's no need to uninstall the old version first.

Unless there is an issue where the installer doesn't upgrade the application but only opens the currently installed application. Happens to me quite often. Only solution is to uninstall the previous version and install the new one. See my posts on page 15.

Ashampoo Uninstaller 5 now free...From ghacks: http://www.ghacks.net/2015/10/21/ashampoo-uninstaller-5-now-free-of-charge/ and from a link in the ghacks article: http://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/lpa/Ashampoo_Uninstaller_5

Note: If you go directly to Ashampoo's website (as of 12:34pm pst 10/21, without using the above links, a price is shown for the uninstaller.

That said, I went ahead and installed via the direct link to Ashampoo from above. Installed just fine. The bad (for some), one must register to receive the license key. Also, there is a small service that runs in the background ( not happy...to kill or not to kill, that is the question... ). Cheers!

Went ahead and stopped the background process via WinPatrol. After a restart, noticed it may have been related to the defrag tool that is part of Uninstaller 5.
