    Hello Members:

ISSUE: SuperAntiSpyware is now cleaning 100+ malware results per cleaning while SpywareBlaster seems to be INACTIVE... although fully ENABLED.

    Running: Win 7 | Google Chrome |

    • Should I expect nothing based on post #2 ?

Any TIPS or CLUES would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for a prompt response.

SUPERAntiSpyware has recently taken a major aggressive stance against "tracking cookies", suddenly finding "tons" of them where it previously hadn't. Tracking Cookies are the least problematic form of "malware", and some may question how much security is gained by removing most of these.

SpywareBlaster protects you "silently"... you'll never see any overt response from it. But that doesn't mean it's not doing anything.
SpywareBlaster does have its own list of tracking cookies... and yes, it DOES block those cookies on its list. However, SAS is more aggressive, has a much larger database list, and so will continue to find more.
Also, SpywareBlaster will restrict many ActiveX controls from executing in the first place. So as I've said, it IS doing its job... quietly.

Raw numbers of "malware" found prove nothing... it depends on the TYPE of malware (with Tracking Cookies being of minimal concern)... so a scanner, like SAS, finding only cookies doesn't necessarily say much for it. While I still use SAS, I personally have much more confidence in MBAM (MalwareBytes Anti-Malware) as a scanner.

Why not have your browser/s set to block third party cookies? This alone will block most tracking cookies.
