Samsung released Magician ver 4.6. I have a 512GB 850 PRO and still have ver 4.5. If I go to Magician Info it says I am running 4.5 and that is the latest version.

So, should I bother updating to 4.6? It almost looks like it has little to do with the 850 PRO. I did change my OS Optimization to Maximum Reliability from Max Performance and it saved about 16GB, so it must have had a pagefile of my whole RAM which is 16GB.

Good link. I am using an 850 PRO, so do not have the EVO's that are mentioned. It actually was 1 reason I bought the PRO. In my case I am not sure going to ver 4.6 will buy me anything.

Please note that Samsung Magician v4.7 not recognizes the Windows 10, see also the attached screenshot.

Therefore RAPID mode can not activated.
In order to Activate RAPID mode in Windows 10:

    a) If you have a previous version already installed (with RAPID mode activated), DO NOT UNINSTALL it, install version 4.7 on top of the previous one.

    b) There is a workaround here=

This company is terrible. If you try to download 4.7, they have set a limit on the number of total downloads they will allow. You have to wait 24 hours and try again even if you have not downloaded in the past.

    No problem at MajorGeeks though.

4.6 may not add much for regular Samsung SSD's, but for people with mSATA versions like myself it was a god-send. I just downloaded it the other day and now I see that 4.7 is up already. No apparent way to get old versions, as far as I can briefly tell anyway. Glad I got it when I did just in case new versions fudge things I'd like to keep getting them as they're released and hang onto the old installers.

But as I just went to DL 4.7 it told me I'd exceeded the download limit for the day. lol... total downloads today = 0. Not using a VPN or proxy either. Is this happening to anyone else? I'd like to get this before it's pushed aside and 4.8 in it's place.

Here is the response I received today (8Oct15) from Samsung about their plans for supporting Windows 10 with their SSD software:

They're sucking too much bandwidth by listening to us through our televisions that they no longer can offer downloads.

What "if any" changes have been made to warrant changing versions, because it's a hassle, as I can imagine just installing overtop could create problems after enabling Trim amongst other things. 4.7 was a big upgrade for those of us with mSATA SSD's, but what's so new about this that makes it worth upgrading?

Yeah I did read it all, but I don't have a PDF reader installer on my box because I never need one. This is the first time one would be useful for me literally since installing the OS on this box. I was hoping someone could explain it to me.

Thank you anon. The Samsung download site is throttling the Magician update as I post this.
