Banzi, Guess that means BD FREE is still not compatible with W10 and all we can do is wait for BD to fix it.:cautious:

I have read on here & on tenforums that some have been running BD free with no real issues. BD will be updated to work fine on windows 10 soon hopefully.

"...they suggest to install antivirus 2015, IS or Total security...". Of course, pay options. I'm using the free option in my PC with Windows 10 Pro x64 and it does the job like a charm. Regards.

I have test it on 4 computers and BDfree doensn't detected malware site's and phishingsite's anymore, if you say it works fine maybe you didn't test it against malware ! lol

I concur that BD Free URL filtering fails in Windows 10. Prove us wrong: provide a single Desktop screen shot showing both the browser window displaying BD's block page and the System control panel. Thanks.

As well, users should open bdfirewall.txt and check for possible network IDS errors: AntiExploitInit, DriverEntry, BdfInit. I saw those.

bdcore and AVC seemed to work OK, but otherwise it's pretty much... BD says it's not for Windows 10. Right??

Sorry I meant to post this to lulika0069

    Hi

Each time I require to perform a System Restore in Windows 7 I have to exit from all Bitdefender Free AV protections, often I have to uninstall it completely. The same goes, sometime, while installing new applications or Updates.
Another issue still persist is the icon disappearing from the start bar, not very often though.
Being using BD free AV for one year, caught bugs that other on demand Malware apps missed.
I'm finding hard to recommend it to others due to the issues of the first paragraph, really happy otherwise.
    Regards,

    VS

Try to use system restore in safe mode. This has worked on windows 8.1 and 10...don't know about 7.

    Thanks.:)
Did work as far as system restore goes. Unfortunately BD became not responsive and I had to perform an uninstall/repair to get it running again.
A little step forward in a way, still not quite there yet...

Well, could be worse. But the security you get with bd free is worth the bit of trouble. Other free a/v's have side affects much worse. I'm still waiting for bd free to become compatible with W10.:)

Sure. I can live with that.
BD caught bugs that other security apps in my computer did not.
Can't complain. Good luck with W10

It's a bit of a bummer.:( Had BD FREE on windows 7 and 8.1... stayed virus free for over 2 yrs.:D BD claims that W10 has failed to update a patch for BD FREE. Also heard that BD failed to issue patch. Just wish WHOEVER would do it soon. Using Panda free for now, but protection is a step or two beneath BD FREE.

Some people wish BD free AV had more customization setting. To me it is a good thing, I got problems with system restore because I mess things up with my apps customization settings:thumbd:.
I got to work on that bad habit of mine:(, then no system restore needed. I suspect there is a similar reason for update and program conflicts I encountered.
That aside, never had any problems, BD is...
(no disrespect for other's choice of AV intended)

Plenty out there...but found they all created other problems much worse. Panda free will do for now, but bd free is my first choice.:thumb:

Dont use Bd free on Win 10.

You may think its working fine as you see no probs on system... but as per Bd free devs... its not compatible with Win 10 & the probs could be not working correctly, less detection, FPs, etc...

I'm quoting a post from almost 3 years ago. Does the latest BitDefender Free still delete files automatically? I have a few files on my system that trigger false-positives with Avira, and I wouldn't want those to be automatically deleted. Avira is too buggy and slow now and I need to replace it with another AV.

delerious you could send avira a mail and say it might be false positifs or you can exclude these files and place them on the whitelist.......

or send these files online ... the analysis avira page
    https://analysis.avira.com/en/submit

I don't know in what way is avira too buggy ?
Ps: BD free is also a buggy product, sometimes you can not open Quarantine to restore files, so it would be no improvement to switch ;)
If you want BD engine there is always lavasoft ad-aware free AV or Qihoo 360 (BD & avira engine)
