How to remove the Amazon crap from Ubuntu

Discussion in 'all things UNIX' started by ComputerSaysNo, Aug 29, 2015.

  1. Does anyone have some guide on how to remove the Amazon crap that comes bundled with Ubuntu?

Are there some terminal commands to remove Amazon? Any way to block connections to Amazon?

    Thanks!

Not using Ubuntu is the best thing you can do.

    Fantastic choice :)

Debian is the distro that is more up-to-date with security patches. They patch things in less than one hour, generally. I'd say it's one of the most well managed and secure out-of-the-box distro there is.

Paranoia is a thought process believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, which isn't my case ;)

But you are using Debian with GRsecurity which isn't 'out of box'.

My bad I thought I saw in another thread you used Debian w/grsec at some point. I may have misread that.
