    Thanks @Page42 - I didn't ininstall KB3022345 ...
    I registered with Sysnative (the fix author) and their advice seems to be to leave the issue as is, that MS is aware of it and will provide a fix. So I won't spend further time on it.

    Krusty13, not yet. Need to research if any of the files inside the KB's have to do with Windows 10 upgrades.

    Updating Windows is getting to be a PITA to stay with Windows 7. Have to look up each update now. :mad:
    I downloaded the important and hid the optional.

    As far as I can tell, none of the file names are similar to any Win 10 upgrade files for this one, however, I'll wait a day or so before installation.

    I have noticed that Consent.exe is present upon booting, then the process is gone. This "telemetry" seems to be related to UTC and Daylight Savings Time.

    USA still the best. But barely.
    Does the below take away the options when or if to install updates on W7 & W8.1? So that no there's no options like in W10?

    Optional Update KB3080149 from MS more information:
    August 2015 UTC update for down-level devices in Windows 8.1 and Windows 7
    This article describes a Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) update for Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This update aligns down-level devices on the same UTC binary that's released in Windows 10. This update would enable all the down-level devices to receive the software updates, design updates, and additional power and performance tuning. Before you install this update, check out the Prerequisites section.

    What's a "down-level device"? But yeah, that almost sounds like they're going to throw "design updates" and "additional power and performance tuning" at 7 and 8. You know, it would not surprise me at all if MS started trying to turn 7 and 8 machines into 10-like machines.. Incredible, right? Maybe that's too far-fetched... haha..

    These new updates will give us something to focus on and keep us wondering what the evil empire is trying to do to us.

    This is a wild guess on my part, and I could be very wrong, which wouldn't be the first time, but "This update adds telemetry points to the User Account Control (UAC) feature to collect information on elevations that come from low integrity levels" sounds to me like they will be monitoring UAC.

    These two seem fairly innocuous;
    This one is an unknown though;

    No, looks like you read it right, and it has to do with UAC. I was looking at KB3080149 and got all discombobulated while typing, as I was looking at all the file names involved for Win7 64-bit. Wow!

    Hehe. The biggest problem in securing my system has become updating it. Which updates to install? What will they try to sneak in?

    And let's not forget, it's explanations generated by Microsoft that folks are relying on to vet the updates.

    Yes then can write whatever they want in those explanations...
    I was thinking of using a tool to check system (services, autostart objects, scheduled tasks...) before updating it and after. Comparing both would show what was changed. I will try Autoruns with this pending updates after I get home from work and will see how it goes.

    When I get 'optional' updates from Mickeysoft these days, I option to hide them. As I've hidden these. I've honestly considered hiding all updates in the future.

    You should rather be considering leaving Microsoft completely. It would be salvation for you.

    I just don't know what happened to Microsoft. I know this, my next desktop will either run Linux or be an iMac. I run three computers, only one still runs Windows, it will be the last.

    I've ceased believing anything Microsoft claims.

    Your not alone. I'm beginning to think the same. :thumb:
