I currently own Acrobat Pro XI. I have a dilemma on whether to upgrade to DC, keep what I have, or get rid of Acrobat entirely (based on its vulnerabilities). Those of you that have DC is it worth the upgrade, is it safe, and which license did you opt for? Plan B would be to trash Acrobat all together and buy something like Abbyy Finereader 12 and their PDF Transformer app. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
I would keep what you have because I am cheap and it still works and will probably be supported for a while yet.
Why not just protect it with MBAE and be done with it? A lot cheaper than purchasing a new program. JS
HI Paragon I also have Acrobat Pro XI. I don't think you will like the alternatives, I didn't and they are still supporting Pro XI. I have Acrobat protected both with Appguard, and HMPA, and have no worries at all. Pete
After taking more time to think you guys are exactly right. I tend to always want the latest and greatest even if it's not always the most practical thing to do. Thanks for the intervention
If you look at it there are really no new features in DC, it's just been messed with so it will work on smart devices. I don't need th is.
You have pro version so keep it. I read somewhere that support is till mid 2017 or something. For users of free version...dont upgrade to dc version. In dc version everytime you open a file...in the right side appears a bar with convert pdf to..... This cannot be disabled & appears everytime you open a file. I disabled that in settings but still appears. In version XI too this bar appears but once you click on tools it disappears & doesn't appear next time.
If you are satisfied with Acrobat Pro XI, then there is not need to switch or upgrade. I read somewhere when DC was released that Acrobat DC was optimized for tablets and smart phones and geared more towards cloud computing. So, if you plan on using Acrobat on PC and do not want or need to work in a cloud, then stick with Acrobat XI for now.
