Ill be honest I hope MS can make Edge really great. I don't have a problem with it. took some getting used to but all in all not a bad browser. I know there are bugs still but those are being quickly fixed. that really kinda is a very biased towards google only lol
No competition is usually not good for customers (users). So I also hope that Edge will become great browser. In the long term that will benefit users of other browsers also.
I can't believe that Chrome is so popular, it sucks. But then again, most PC users are no extremely picky geeks. Yes I agree, I do hope that Edge will somehow be able to get some market share back. I also wonder why Chrome has become more popular than Firefox.
More there are valid competitors better it is for everyone. So I wish all the best to all enterprises! If Edge is a valid browser competitor then great (Windows 10 not installed (yet)) Whatever there is one point IMO worth being considered : fashion, technology fashions often built, enhanced by a company's communication aptitudes. hence for many Microsoft is old-fashioned, unable to smile/laugh - Google is the opposite, on the cutting-edge of everything and knows how to keep and improve that image : the company never implores, their word is rather "We make good stuff, up to you" when Microsoft seems to implore "Love us!" : declarations have never been seductive, like in a romance! - Facebook is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (I'd say "Mr. Hide"!) with grand paraphrases and love for humanity on the public side, rules as heavy as a Constitution on the other and always prompt to try and see if people swallow their last pill and if not, backing up then one step to later on move ahead another two... As for Apple, if their prices were lower they'd lose the only faithful customers they have, those nouveau riches who believe that a signature is far more important than the good. Anyway ... let's hope we all are and remain lucid. Just lucid as possible, as possible it is free from everything the modern world wishes to make us believe we need, when what we only need is air, water, food and a roof.
Yes, it's also about being sexy. If I'm correct, Chrome is not even installed on most new PC's, so this means that people are actually downloading it. You would think that most people would just stick to IE, like back in the days. I also wonder what Mozilla did wrong.
Even if users use IE they will get Chrome offered each time they use Google search. Only few clicks and their default browser has been replaced...
MS and Google both want to control you, but while MS is old and stuck in the past. Google push technology for the sake of it, and mainly to help themselves. Neither is the thinking man's champion. Actually, they don't align with much of real value to the end user at all if i'm honest. Edge will be the also-ran that IE is. The popularity is down to inclusion with the OS. Time will tell if 'IE on a diet' will be able to stave off all the bad rap. I doubt it. My guess, is that as usual, once the internal workings are got to grips with, Edge will feature in security updates just as often as IE itself. The end users will be the one's who suffer, so I would be happy to be proven wrong. I won't be assimilated.
Interesting question, moreover because I lack the answer! Maybe Mozilla is perceived as unstable, the company's perspectives not it's browser. As I feel it Mozilla is the perfect example of a community development structure which lacks a master mind. Communities are essential when they participate to a common project by injecting ideas but not when its members seem to decide independently, therefor leading the project to come and goes, left, right and finally an upside-down logic or perceived as such. Imagine the US foreign policy conducted by the states, un-united? I believe Mozilla needs a strong CEO and starts moving ahead rather than aside.
I entirely agree. What is and what is perceived are often two different matters. We had a humorist here in France called Coluche who would laugh about a good salesman being one able to sell sand to Arabs
Like many of us I remove promotional ads and, concerning Flash, removed it system-wide. But for sure when an offer is a click-away and the traveler doesn't know the countryside, he's likely to take a chance as one's word appears reassuring.
hmm, i dont use either. well IE very rarely if i have to find a streaming URL or something. other than that....
Edge won't be that great. Everything coming from M$ is mediocre at best. And I concur, Chrome sux too.
I forgot about this. Now that I think of it, they probably need better marketing. Even though I'm not a fan, I still think FF is a better browser when compared to Chrome.
Edge is completely irrelevant until it has addon support. It's actually a downgrade to IE in that respect. Hopefully addon support will be implemented soon.
