AFAICT there are no Windows 10 compatible third party firewalls available yet so use the built in one to begin with. I would check in the firewalls section here for info about 10 compatible products. Last I read in the Comodo forum they are going to announce a compatible version of their suite (and separate firewall, etc) very soon. There are also many relevant threads here:

Is there a way to choose what updates are installed on W10 Pro?

Have a question for you guys regarding Flash. Why is it in Control Panel and what is it doing there? Does these default apps or Edge need it? How do I get rid of it, if it is redundant. It was not there pre upgrade from W7.o_O

Ah did not know that. Much appreciated. As long as its maintained and regularly updated like Chromes' inbuilt flash. Ill leave it as is for now then.

    regards.

@roger_m -- thanks for posting that link. I do wonder (as does the author of the article) whether this will result in permanent removal or whether flash will somehow get re-installed via a windows update (or otherwise). Regardless, I bookmarked that link and thanks again for posting it.

Although that "dotted rectangle" appears to be gone, as you can determine from the screenshot, focus is still highlighted when you hover.

Thanks for the response, I really appreciate it. So are you saying that you never get to see the dotted lines, not only on the desktop (Windows GUI) but also not in the GUI of applications?

Correct; I don't recall seeing any dotted lines since I upgraded to Win10. If you look at the highlighted area around the screenshot in my earlier post, I distinctly recall seeing a dotted line around the Recycle Bin icon when I was running Win8.1, but now it's just a solid line.

The screenshots below should be further illustrative. The first shows the Customize button (in Taskbar and Start Menu Properties) with a solid line around it while the second shows how the MBAM dashboard appears if I hover over Settings.

Don't do it that way. Use Disk Cleanup, Cleanup System Files.

Yes, Disk Cleanup works well, I used it on my upgrade setup before I did my clean install. Works great.
