I have been using Macrium Reflect 5 for several years but the backup speed is so slow, it makes it so discouraging. Because of this, I am bad to not do it. I'm interested In Paragon Backup & Recovery Home. My question is, is the backup speed faster than Macrium? I have downloaded the trial version of the Home edition but before I spend hours waiting on it to backup and then find out it isn't any faster, I thought I would ask and hope there is people who have used both of them first.
I would strongly encourage you to give Macrium Reflect 6 a try. The free version is awesome and is very quick.
That's what other people were saying about it. Because of this, I wasn't interested in upgrading. Now to figure out how to use Paragon. I've got it installed and I've got the manual downloaded. It may not be as complicated as it looks but it sure makes you think it is.
The advantages in speed of Macrium 6 are evident in restore processes, when the new options are used. This has been extensively discussed in the Macrium threads. If restores are frequent, this may be an important factor to prefer Macrium over other programs. If you use Macrium mainly to create full images and restore them occasionally, Macrium is reliable but slow.
I had read also that the restore speed was faster, but that would not benefit me enough to pay me to upgrade because I hardly ever use the restore feature. Now that may change tomorrow but as of right now, I mainly use it to make full images and rarely have to restore. Usually, when that happens, I'm so happy to have a backup that I can restore, the speed isn't important to me. Is there another option out there that backs up as fast or faster than Paragon and is dependable?
